Books I would suggest... on lures... Zeno's The Art of Surfcasting with lures is a great one. Also Skinner's Striper Pursuit... The Complete Guide to Surfcasting by Joe Cermele... An older but good one. Surf Fishing With the Experts by Muller. The Seminar is Saturday 9-11 am, hope to see you there!

Thanks for watching. The jacket is a Grundens Gore-Tex Jacket that I got last year. It's a perfect shell with a nice hood and neoprene cuffs. I've had a lot of different jackets and this is one of my favorites, but it isn't cheap.

I used to fish LBI surf and back bays just about every week and fish heads was our first stop and I swear I never left there with a bill under $50. Not because they’re expensive but because there’s always something new I want to try and always made certain to never run out of bait while surf fishing, but I haven’t fished there in 20yrs. It wasn’t my plan to stop fishing there but circumstances out of my control made me start going other places. I was a member of the LBI fishing club and I made the mistake of catching a bigger striper surf fishing on the island than the president Tom Sylvester’s brother Crybaby John fatso Sylvester. I had gotten my name on the trophy for that particular fete. I also got a $15 gift certificate to fish heads. When I had went down there the next time after winning I was there with a good friend and went to show him the trophy and someone(hmmm I wonder who) ^^^^ actually took a like a screwdriver and gouged and pried the nameplate with my name on it right off the trophy. It was nowhere to be found and I was perplexed and since no one was there I couldn’t asked anyone. Yeah some real low class losers showing their true colors and demonstrating what poor sportsmanship truly is and that was t the worst part that was yet to come. I always mailed my check in by jan1 but this time after mailing my dues in months passed and they never canceled the check and they always informed others they were passed due but I heard nothing and later the check was still not cashed so I kept trying to contact the treasurer but he conveniently was always out or busy. Something smelled fishy I knew something was going on but I couldn’t understand why they were f’n with me because I never really thought a grown ass man would be so pathetic and lowdown. So I finally got ahold of the guy by using someone else’s phone and asked what was going on. He said you’re gonna have to come down to the monthly meeting to work it out but that was a lie and when I got there he said since we never received my check which was BS I showed him my checkbook that it was written in December and I had mailed it same day back in December and he knew about all my phone calls too. I said I’ll give you cash now or told him I’d give him another one but he said I needed to go back on the list to become a member. They didn’t tell me this on the phone either they said I had to meet him down at the club to work it out and I live in Philly so I had to drive all the way down there to hear that BS it was absolutely ridiculous and I was crushed and really disappointed that they could be so petty and childish. Then I got pissed that I wasted a day driving down there because it was miserable out and I had my very young son who was about 4 at the time. So fishing was out. My dad and brothers have been members for 40yrs at least and I was actually a jr member but this was childish crybaby crap you’d see from a grade schooler. Most of the guys in the club only talk about fishing because I would go down every Friday and there might be one guy there. During the day they sat around drank beer and talked about catching big fish but never seen their rods get wet. I swear if I would’ve known they were gonna act so childishly and cry like big babies I wouldn’t have even entered my fish in the year long inter club contest. I was on the list for years waiting to get in and was happier than a pig in shit when my number was punched. Driving from phily after working all day and fishing all night it was nice to have a place to crash clean fish take a shower and not worry about driving home half asleep. They’re an absolute disgrace and that was so dishonorable, they have zero integrity. I’d be embarrassed to show my face down there if I couldn’t accept getting beaten and used those scumbag tactics. Like breaking a guys name off a trophy at that time was very old trophy with dozens of names on it. WTF is wrong with people ? I haven’t ran into either one of them but I’d surely give them a piece of my mind even after all this time it still sticks in my crawl. My fish was 40lbs. 47.5” his fish was 46.5 or 47” I guess that was unacceptable to him and mommy and daddy apparently never told him no reminds me of another certain idiot running for president who’s unable to accept defeat. I’ve been fishing further south and started targeting freshwater species. Oh well thought I’d put my story out there about the classless clowns at LBIFC, and by no means is this an indictment on everyone else in the club it’s just big bird and snuffleupagus and the treasurer henry.

First off thanks for your patronage over the years. I'm happy to hear you shopped with us and had good experiences. I'm also happy to hear you caught some nice fish at LBI. I sorry to hear about your story, but happy I provided an avenue for you to vent. I don't know anything about the events you shared and to the best of my knowledge I don't know Tom; however, I do know a lot of great members of the LBI Fishing Clubs. I hope you come back and fish LBI in the future and score some great fishing. Best of luck fishing to you!
