The real fun Tape convo is the one where LBJ is hammering Hoover suspecting that "they" were gonna fire at him and then Hoover gives up that Connelly was hit by the 2nd bullet and that he wouldn't have gotten hit, indicating frontal shots, and JFK would have got all 3 shots if Connolly didn't get in the way!! That one's in the LBJ Library also and you can find it here and there on KZbin still!!

I agree with Mr. Wheeler concerning the ducks. They all fell into line guided by a master organizer who was a social genius but had no concept of military leadership or strategy. With all his power to manage and control the social agenda in getting passed and signing more social legislation into law than any President in history his evaluation of foreign affairs was seriously lacking. The conflict of war and his social efforts with the on going racial disturbance his reign of leadership came swiftly to an end as despair set in and the demons finally caught up.

I agree but he had NO CONTROL of the vietnam war. Mcnamara has now came out and said GUlf of Tonkin was a lie, and we used it to get into the war, and the Elite $ bankers/power brokers wanted that war. Kennedy signed in NSAM 263 in Oct 1963 pulling all troops out of Vietnam. it was there war, there the ones who have to win it or lose it. So, getting JFK out of way meant easy war for them. When Johnson didnt want to live under fear anymore n resigned n didnt even run for a 2nd term in 68, they got their Boy Nixon (Who employeed Jack Ruby before) back on politics after 8 years of being out of it. JFK underestimated the power they had, and they got to him 1st. But, Johnson was just going along with what he was told. The Public Execution of JFK was for Future presidents that get out of line and don't follow the establishments views. Just like 911 and blaming it on Bin Laden all the families, civic engineers, pilots, are all agreement that its physically impossible for that day to happen including Building 7 which was not hit by a plane. 3 building in the history of the WORLD have been brought down by fire, and guess what, all 3 happened on 911. So, from JFK, they have controlled every event till this day unfortunately, no president has control

@@dl9229 I'm reading NSAM 263 right now. Could you please point me to the section, pulling all troops out of the war ? I've read it several times now. I've also read the McNamara/Taylor report to the President of Oct 2, upon which the bulk of NSAM 263 was informed: "[T]here is no solid evidence of the possibility of a successful coup" against the Diem government. The Diem regime was overthrown a month later on Nov 2. This seems to cast some doubt on the reliability of the McNamara/Taylor report upon which NSAM 263 was based. But going back to NSAM 263, where's the part that says JFK will withdraw all troops ? The closest I can find is this statement: "[E]ssential functions can be carried out by Vietnamese by the end of 1965. It _should_ be possible to withdraw the bulk of U.S. personnel by that time". Is there a part which unequivocally states JFK will withdraw all the troops, in NSAM 263 ? Its worth nothing that, after the overthrow of Diem, McNamara's opinion (both in NSAM 263 and his Oct 2 report) that the war was going well, changed substantially as delineated his December statement that: without further intervention, "current trends in South Vietnam unless reversed in the next 2-3 months, will lead to neutralization at best, and more likely to a Communist-controlled state". NSAM 273, authorised by then President LBJ on 26 Nov, "unequivocally affirms all statements and policies" in NSAM 263. -- So in summary: JFK asks McNamara and Taylor to give him a full report on the war, from South Vietnam. They give him the Oct 2 report stating there's no possibility of a coup, and the war is going well. Those two and, other national security staff then draft NSAM 263, stating, in absence of a coup and because of the rosy view from the ground, that it _should_ be possible to withdraw "the bulk" of US forces, by the end of 1965 (two years from when the directive was authorised). The coup happens and McNamara walks back his Oct 2 report, saying things aren't going well and in fact, Vietnam requires GREATER US military aid, not less. Nonetheless, in almost his first act as President, LBJ still affirms NSAM 263 (in NSAM 273). I'll summarise my thoughts and questions in the next comment.

@@dl9229 So NSAM 263 says it should be possible, in absence of a coup or other unforeseen circumstances, to withdraw most US troops, in 2 years. Every President knows that alot can happen in two years. JFK knew that. Surely a directive authorised by JFK that it "should be possible" to withdraw "the bulk" of US military forces, in 2 years, isn't an unequivocal statement that to the effect of "regardless of what happens, I'm pulling all troops from South Vietnam". Does NSAM 263 contain such an unequivocal statement that JFK would very definitely remove all troops from Vietnam, irrespective of the circumstances within that country ?

Ahh..The dog that caught his tail. Who knows but the dog and the tail.😏 its very ironic and funny how these two beat each other off as if some old war life saving buddies having a report over cheap liquor and cigars! and occasional glassy glances at each other. Thats the bond they portrayed at least. Smh the roads to power comes with its shady mileage..
