It’s too bad they wanted to make LBJ look worse in “Selma”. If you listen to these calls, he encouraged Dr. King,A. Philip Randolph,Whitney Young,etc. to March for Voting Rights.

The civil rights act was Kennedy's proposal, but the voting rights act was Johnson's.

lbj helped push civil rights bills through- the bills were Kennedy's proposals. lbj was an enigma -he had support from right wing segregationist hl hunt , murchinson, was tight with j edgar hoover , yet he could be civil with king. of course when king spoke out against the Vietnam war and hoover hated him and lbj's texas backers also hated king he got hit. just another lone nut ?
