My stick was also gritty but not because of a rough surface but because one of the cables was actually INSIDE the gate of the stick. Actually it was starting to chew the cable so the up direction started to fail (that's why I searched for fixes and ended here). I rearranged the cables so they won't get anywhere near the gate and fixed the chewed one. After my "fix" the stick actually works wonders. I suggest opening this ASAP when you get them to avoid this kind of issues. The stick wasn't actually rough and didn't need any sanding but watch the cables !

I know this video is old but can you do a video tutorial on how to round off micro switches. I have seen written tutorials but i would like a video tutorial.

I just found these on Ebay. Since I started playing arcade games again at a local video game shop. I'm now wanting a universal fight/arcade stick. These don't seem so bad. I mean the only thing I've seen that is the common problem is the joystick but for the price these seems nice.

I feel that the fix to smooth them out is easily justifying of the low pricepoint, the boards that drive this have no latency and are really simple, after repair this is great.

Hey! I purchased one of these recently, and I was wondering how difficult it is to make the modifications you made? At the very least I'd like to sand the microswitch and lube the ball joint! Thanks! (This thing is really just a gateway to getting a nice QANBA or Hori stick!)

Super easy. Step By Step: Remove screws on bottom of arcade stick. Remove cover. Look for arcade stick microswitch enclosure. Pinch sloped tabs holding the backing plate on. Remove backing plate At this point micros are visible, you will clearly see microswitch buttons that are ununiformly ground they are the portion of the microswitch that is the physical button that interacts inversly directionally with the joystick, mine were all VERY poorly ground, thusly causing a rigid and ununiform motion of the fight stick. BE CAREFUL DO NOT SAND OFF TOO MUCH OF THE MICROSWITCH OR IT WILL NOT REACH THE ARCADE STICK SHAFT DISK! Remove (one at a time) the micros, use some fine grit sandpaper 500 grit or more. Round the face of the button giving it a slight bevel at the corners, frequently during sander replace the microswitch to check it is just barely interacting with the fight stick arm disk. Do this to all of them. When you finish, add a little lithium grease (walmart in a tube) around the arcade stick arm disk that interacts with the micros (it is a plastic ring and obvious) Next sand the end of the fight stick, specifically the metal portion of the shaft protruding through the disk, USE COARSE GRIT 60-200 on the end past the lock ring. You may not have to do this depends if it is rubbing against the case. Once done add a little grease to the end of the shaft. Reverse disassembly to reassemble. Optional: Resolder the connections between the boards. and properly splice either with crimping wire couplers or terminate with wire caps (there was atleast one unshielded jumper in mine). Remove board from behind the arcade pad buttons, add 3-5mm small dab of dielectric grease to the backs of the rubber domed contact pads. Add lithium grease to the inside of the plastic button enclosures. Have fun m8

Thank you so so much! The only thing I'm worried about it borking it and ruining the stick, but all the same! Thanks!

Have you tried attaching both together to PC and play? My concern is if you connect to same controllers to PC , does PC recognize them as 2 separate inputs or just 1

Price wise these are super cheap. Great for someone who just wants to try a fight stick out. This one is (at time of writing) around $18 US compared with a mid range one a $150-200 US. You only get what you pay for though.

hi there so pretty much you have to fix it (joystick) in order to play right???
@LBpDC8 жыл бұрын
Sadly the joystick is just really rough at first. That said, with regular use the motion would smooth as the rough edges in its micros rounded.

my joystick came already smooth

Hey I just got this controller and already the downwards direction on the joystick doesn't give any input, the stick isn't right in the center of the black circle. is there any way to fix this?
@LBpDC7 жыл бұрын
I suggest you disassemble and verify the motion of down is electrically "making" the microswitch that the stick cam interacts with using a voltmeter and ohming out the normally open terminals.

Thank you, i contacted the seller in the hope I can send this faulty unit back and get a new unit or my money back, if not this is the way I will go, i have troubles getting the back plate of the microswitches open. any tips for that?

Hello friend, thanks for the video. I just purchased one of these arcade sticks and it doesn't work in my Playstation 2. It works fine in my PS1, but does not work AT ALL in my PS2. Any suggestions?
@LBpDC7 жыл бұрын
Did you already verify the mode selection is actually doing anything and tone out the connections from circuit board to PS controller socket pinout with a voltmeter to verify continuity?
