Can you please tell me your setup, exhaust ect? I’ve got a 2uz-fe 100 series v8 I’m thinking of super charging, what’s your experience with it been like? Worth the $10,000?
@sjanahi74563 жыл бұрын
The supercharger is great but not worth its price really. You could get a good turbo setup cheaper for the same amount of boost. Exhaust and headers are custom. Nothing more else. I've destroyed my piston rings so new forged connecting rods, pistons and all the bolts and pins are in order soon I reckon.

Hey I have the same engine as you, I’m interested in doing something similar and curious what engine internals and supercharger you went with

Do you know if this supercharger would work on a 1st gen 4.7 tundra?
@enenra98212 жыл бұрын
Lmk if you find out, trynna see if it’ll work with the vvti
@graysoncodm Жыл бұрын
@@enenra9821 it won’t, there was never a supercharger for the vvti model. You could possibly fit a 03-04 terminator cobra supercharger on it, you’ll have to get an adapter plate tho. These engines hate boost stock so if you wanna go boosted the rods are gonna have to be replaced. It’ll hold around 5lbs of boost stock but no more than that.
@garetfitzpatrick2043 Жыл бұрын
@@graysoncodm elate manufacturing sells those adapter plates with extenders for the vvti you mentioned. What would be the next thing besides rods and compression lowering if for say i wanted about 450 hp? How would the 5 speed tranny hold?
@graysoncodm Жыл бұрын
@@garetfitzpatrick2043 rods, pistons, that’s it for internals. Obviously lower compression like you said. At that point you might as well get custom cams, due to this engine being a truck engine the camshafts are setup for lower end torque. Kelford cams make cams for this engine, and you might can even have the head ported. But if you don’t want to do all of this then stock cams will work fine. As for the tranny, if you’re not doing a million burnouts wherever you go then it should be fine for awhile, it definitely wouldn’t last as long as stock tho.

nah not really, you can pretty much diy your exhaust just depends how illegal you wanna go. For me, I have a pipe that runs through the bigger rear muffler to bypass it. Sounds 50% louder and thong slaps too. I'd recommend a turbo before a supercharger if you were to get one done. Much, much cheaper. sucks its not a super common engine for power mods because its already good enough to most standards. so you wont be finding any cheap used superchargers. You'll need close to 10K for a new sup setup.

4.7 VVTI engine?
@sjanahi74564 жыл бұрын
Nah, its the '04 model well before they brought out VVTI.
@PaperRocket18863 жыл бұрын
@@sjanahi7456 good thing too. VVTI had higher compression pistons. You’d DEFINITELY be down and out at that point with a SC.
