Check out my new Elate Mfg #supercharger install! I go over the kit and some mods I did to install it in my USDM 2007 Lexus #LX470. This truck has the 4.7L VVTI V8 and this blower looks to be the perfect match!

Awesome job on this build! I am doing the same to my uzj200 LC 2008 your video has helped alot as very similar (Australia). Do you know how these kits go with VV-ti models? I’m struggling to find information on the computer side of things once a supercharger is installed.

Yes it fits VVTI. My engine is VVTI. I did not mod the ECU at all, just added fuel pressure regulator and run good fuel. Also run spark plugs 1 step cooler.

love your build. what piggyback did you go with? do you have a map you'd be willing to share? (i'm sc-ing a 2006 tundra with the harrop fdfi1900)

I have a Map ECU3. I just retarded timing starting at 3psi. 3psi = -1, 4psi = -2, 5psi = -3 and so on

Hey, great video. I just got a 2004 LX470 and seriously thinking of going down this road. It’s a little intimidating looking at all the work, do you think a home mechanic can handle this project? what do you think is the learning curve

It's not super hard if you have experience working on cars. It's simpler than doing a timing belt replacement on these engines!

Are the factory pistons forged? Have you had any problems with the Rods?

Not forged. No problems yet but that's why I'm keeping boost low

how difficult would it be to maintain this if i don't know how to wrench? like would i constantly need to be at the shop?

Shouldn't need anything once you get it going. The blower will eventually need to be rebuilt (new bearings, seals etc) but I'm not really sure how many miles. Probably at least 60k before that needs anything.

Are you concerned with the rods snapping? I heard that is why Toyota discontinued the TRD supercharger for the 4.7.

No not at this power level. They discon the blower because they came out with the VVTI version of the engine which upped the power and then introduced the 5.7

Shit ton of questions sir, I am doing the same mod except it is a TRD S/C and also planning on going E85, and also mine is a VVTI , 2007 LX470. So what Piggyback are you using? I was gonna go with Unichip but they are currently unavailable due to they have to comply with new regulations, my second choice would be MAPECU 3, what about your fuel pump and fuel injectors? did you have to change them to be compatible with E85? Thank you!

You will probably have trouble fitting the TRD SC on the VVTI engine. The air injection system is underneath the intake manifold and sticks up way higher than the non-VVTI engine so it will probably interfere. The Elate SC includes runner extensions because of that. I run E85 on stock injectors and AEM fuel pump. Also I'm running stock ECU tune with rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

TRD S/C has been done on VVTI with modifications on air runners, I forgot how but its on youtube, Im also looking for MAPECU3 but they are out of stock. You should upgrade your injectors for more power lol@@Turboactive

@@dennisl4961 you got a lot to learn lol. You can only burn so much fuel...also a rising rate fuel regulator increases the fuel flow in proportion to boost...

What was the total cost to run this kit with e85?

The E85 kits are about $500. I recommend the A.P.E. Flex Fuel kit check out my other video I install one on my Chrysler 300C. The supercharger was about $6k USD

Hey Jimmy, what's your afr ratios like on idle and under throttle? Mine is around 14 or 15 on idle or light load, wondering if that's also what you are seeing

Yep it's about 14.5:1 at idle and light load, 13:1 with medium load, and goes to 11.5:1 under heavy load
