Good to see your fitting a trans cooler as I've just ordered my trans cooler from Wholesales Automatics as well. Those 40 deg days are a bit of a worry as well as those steep hills. I have my OBD-11 up and running so we are going to do a trip away for a test run with out cooler, then I will fit it and do another test with more hills involved. At least that will give me a base point to work from. With transmission so expensive these days, I would rather err on the safer side of temps. Keep your hints and travels, I for one enjoy them for the information and the places to travel to. Stay safe cheers

It looked a little like the open ends of the new transmission lines and the fixed bayonet fittings were ingesting some of that red dust. Before you started that installation it might have been a good idea to do a pressure rinse of the area you were to be working in.

100% agree about cleanliness when working on fluid systems... unfortunately I can't clean everything 100% either, it did get a wash before but as u can see we do go places that just shoce the dirt right up there, ha ha....

Installed mine over the weekend. Installed post watch 3 videos.... Anyone read remember to cable tie across the bottom of the radiator support not the bull bar like other videos 🤔.... that moves around a hell of alot compared to the body... This video missed that bit so just a friend FIY... I did as was good spot... then I went hang one that radiator and mounts for it all are the body not the chassis

That's correct, but it was more of a basic guide not a in depth step by step.... I think I mentioned securing it up there, sorry for not being specific 😥 hope 7 had a win either way and enjoy the new cooling 😎

Was the hose the correct id. I think the Toyota is 9.5 Id. Was the new hose the same size

Hey mate, yep new hose was correct size, slid on with a slight bit of resistance and clamped tight perfectly..... no leaks since 👌🍻

Good video, its something I have often wondered about how to overcome, because I do alot of beach driving and so up goes the transmission temp. So thanks for the tips, looks relatively straight forward. As a matter of interest where did you put the horn back on the body? 👍

Yeah it definitely drops the temps down 💪💪 the horn goes back in the same spot just behind the cooler ;)

Can you please explain what have you add to the Air filter?… what is this Patz box written on that transparent box exactly in the same spot where the air filter is?…

It is an aftermarket airbox, common problem with the Lc200 is the factory airbox leaks dust into the engine... these aftermarket air boxes prevent that from happening... Fatz Built is a company that makes them :)

Can I ask what temps on the Ultra Guage you are happy with as maximums, seems hard to get real life advice on this anywhere :( TC, Pan & AFT

Ha ha it is a bit like that isn't it, no real hard and fast temps given.... the max i have ever had it was 106°c towing through Adelaide Hills on a 42°c day. .... usually it sits around the 60-80 mark with the cooler installed, before that was around the 70-90 so a bit of a change with the cooler installed. I used to do experiments while driving (bored) and see how and why the temp goes up (from what gear I'm in or how fast cruising etc) so I am fairly familiar with my trans, but I'd imagine each one differs slightly, hope that helps 👌🍻

Hey mate 👍 What does your pan temp run at now, just daily driving without a load? I'm thinking of buying one. The temps hit 100 sand driving in H4. I use the lock up kit in low and it's alot cooler. But I only use low if really soft

Just cruising around it doesn't go over about 60°c, towing around the 75°c..... was about a 10-15°c drop from factory 👌👌💪💪

Hi guys. I’m wondering if anybody knows of this is normal behaviour for my Pajero v93 /ns or if I should be concerned I recently got a Bluetooth OBD2 scanning tool to keep an eye on my ATF transmission temperature. On a 35 degree day, I drove at 100-120km/h on highway. AT Temp went from 84 degrees to 108 degrees Celsius. Should it really get so hot ? Or it is normal operating temperature for pajero

That temp is quite high... were u towing at the time, uphill etc?? If in doubt rake it to an automatic specialist for a good check over 👌👌

No towing it’s on a normal highway drive !

@@rafin1562 i would say something is definitely wrong there, shouldn't get that hot at all.. would check the basics first (enough fluid, blocked cooler etc) then take it in to someone to check properly 😎😎

Do you have a lock up kit in? if so, what further temp drops did you get from the extra cooler?

I have a trans tune that is in place of a lock up kit, so it all does it automatically ;) the temp difference is about 10-15 degrees over the stock cooler, so much more noticeable when towing 👌👌

@@DucruznOZ copy that, i have a trans tune and lock up kit, sure makes a diff in temps when i drop 2.5 tons of van on the back, let alone the fuel economy. Going by my ultraguage, ( ambient temps not with standing ) trans temps towing average around 60-65 C, turn the lock up kit off, well now... in the 90's. Cheers for the reply.

@@DucruznOZ yah. my humble experience tells me any auto 4x4 owner who tows, needs to get a lock up kit. They will thank them selves for doing it.
