I’ve always been told wrist should be straight inline with arm, another person I watch who I really admire says a bent wrist will cause a low shot on target because your pulling up on the shot which causes the bow to shoot downward at the shot. Makes sense to me but maybe I’m wrong.

this is very interesting and never thought of this before! if my draw length is too short, would that make it difficult to bring my elbow down? it seems my elbow is always higher than my arrow.

I had the same issue, did a seminar with GRIV a few months ago n discussed exactly this. In short, It can be. But everyone's body shape is different so the elbow will be where it will be. It's more important your rear shoulder can settle down, otherwise you'll be taking all that draw weight with the rotator cuff.

I think it depends on what you define as your elbow. In this video it looks like the top tip of his elbow is above the arrow. But the overall joint is in line.
