This is the best LCD song. He finally captured the soul of the softer side of Suicide without any of the abrasion, and without obviously lifting anything except the feel.

@@jackl7778 Yes. I spent several minutes last night before going through the Suicide back catalogue and reaching the same conclusion. Also, 'Only You' by Yazoo and something by Pink about '...punch them right out'. Don't know if it is plagiarism or regurgitation, but the man is such a gifted lyricist, he and his colleagues create something that sounds like an evolution and hauntingly powerful.

+ Luke Lewis The 80s saw the transition from analog synths to digital and the changes in sound brought positives and negatives. Sampling came after digital. Today there is a rebirth of analog or analog/digital hybrid synths. But some of the old gear still sounds great. The bass line is an old ARP Odyssey.

I liked this song so much after first hearing it from a UK TV drama, 'Butterfly' (currently airing in UK) about a young boy's struggle to be recognised transgender. I had never heard of LCD Soundsystem before this. Even more intriguing is I connected the dots with musician Gavin Russom - best known for playing synthesizer and percussion for LCD Soundsystem, came out as transgender last year. I'm not sure if that is just coincidence or if the music was used in the drama as a connection from that. Would be so interesting to know the backstory if there is one. The TV drama is beautiful and so is this piece of music, so fitting. The music fits the drama more than the excellent video made for this piece in my opinion.
