Condolences to EVERYONE who has come to this page seeking closure! I just lost someone important to me, a retired priest, and while I'm not religious I did confide in him all the time and he to me. I leaned on him a lot "and to tell the truth I saw it coming the way (he) was breathing. But nothing can prepare you for it." Some of the realest lyrics one can relate to. RIP to all we've loved.

Lyrics I wish that we could talk about it But there, that's the problem With someone new I couldn't start it Too late, for beginnings The little things that made me nervous Are gone, in a moment I miss the way we used to argue Locked, in your basement I wake up and the phone is ringing Surprised, as it's early And that should be the perfect warning That something's a problem To tell the truth I saw it coming The way you were breathing But nothing can prepare you for it The voice on the other end The worst is all the lovely weather I'm stunned, it's not raining The coffee isn't even bitter Because, what's the difference? There's all the work that needs to be done It's late, for revision There's all the time and all the planning And songs, to be finished And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming Till the day it stops And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming Till the day it stops And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming And it keeps coming Till the day it stops I wish that we could talk about it But there, that's the problem With someone new I could have started Too late for beginnings You're smaller than my wife imagined Surprised, you were human There shouldn't be this ring of silence But what are the options? When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone When someone great is gone We're safe, for the moment Saved for the moment

Just wow! I already loved this song and band. I found much solace in this song (and a few others) when my nephew passed from cancer. A few years later I lost both parents within 8 months. This song helped so much. It still immediately gets me to the core. Who knew this asymmetrical and uplifting ode to grief and loss could be so uplifting, and danceable. After years of trying to find a chance, I finally got to see LCD Soundsystem last week in San Diego! They were awesome live and they killed it with this song. Just as the synths started firing up the opening vibration, James Murphy said "Ob boy," steeling himself for the emotional wave about to be unleashed through their talent. Much love to everyone who is seeking solace and comfort.

I love this song because I feel like I has a double meaning to it. On one hands it’s a simple song about a heartbreak probably but it’s also about losing someone you loved physically, since the song was dedicated to Murphy’s therapist who died, which I feel like can add to the meaning of the song, where the “therapist” you lost can be whoever you make it to be, whether it’s a partner, good friend, or a family member. Damn I love this song.

nutster9000 naw, they’re old-school modular analog units. It is extremely rare for musicians to bring them on tour. They cost a fortune and they’re impossible to replace on the fly if they break for whatever reason.
@Simpobee4 жыл бұрын
@@nwcoastlife Big fan of this band. I've seen James, I think, mention in an interview it's obscenely expensive to tour with all this, but he's such a perfectionist he can;t help it. As many touring setups for bands and other acts have downsized a lot in the past 20 years or so, the sheer volume of LCD Soundsystem is something that hits you when you see them live. So if you're ever put off if their tickets are £20/$30 more than you would like to pay, trust me when I say it's worth it, that extra price is tangible, and makes their live show unforgettable.
@johnsherling4 жыл бұрын
@@nwcoastlife Pretty sure their synth player Rayna has built some of them. Must be handy to have a band member that builds synthesizers lol
@KendrickMegaFan4 жыл бұрын
@@nwcoastlife chances are it probably is homemade. When they say “homemade” though, they mean they just grabbed a few oscillators and other modules and screwed them into a mod synth case. But it does cost a fortune. Each module is like $300, it looks like they have at least 40 of them. They also need the case which of that size is around $1500. It’s not impossible to replace because modules are pretty commonly sold and it’s easy to repair because you just dump out the faulty module, screw in the new one and plug it into the power supply
