The Ryu highlight vs the Ruler Shuffle perfectly displays the change in Fakers playstyle over the years. The Ryu highlight might just be the one of if not the greatest mechanical play in all of League, displaying how Faker used to be so ahead of the curve with his inhuman mechanics. The Ruler Shuffle shows that while Faker isn't the mechanical god anymore (atleast not on every champ, i'd argue he still is on Azir) he's got a clutch factor that can turn virtually any match/series around. The shuffle wasn't "technically" mechanically impressive, it's the fact that he and only he would shuffle in on full vision while being 3.5k down against a team with baron (the team who had the statistically fastest wins with baron buff that year) stopping in front of Ruler to bait out the flash, flash a millisecond before and then shuffle him into hell. The sheer balls, the level of calm a player must have to do something like that while under such pressure. And to add unto it, the fact that his team trusts him so much that they responded immediatly without hesitation to follow up on whatever mad shit he was about to cook up. That's why he's the goat.

He has such an insane ability to clutch a game when the chips are down. This year at MSI he had that play where in Game 5 vs G2 he managed to catch Hans Sama from over the wall while he was surrounded by his entire team and got out, arguably saving the entire series there. The man is absolutely unreal.

The Zed Outplay should have been the ending, but I guess the Azir-Varus Scoop is amazing ending cause it is the prophecy being fulfilled, the revenge of Faker for when Ruler flashed on Faker. This time, Faker saw his Flash and caught him where he wants to be.

IMO, they are tied for this greatest plays of all time. That Zed outplay was his breakout. The scream that said "I have arrived. My time is now." That Azir outplay was him saying, with all the weight of history and legacy on his shoulders, "I'm still here. This is still my time."

Tbh the Azir play might have been the biggest reason they won Worlds. The game was really tough for T1, and without that they would've most likely lost that game, which would put them on 1-2 against JDG. An incredibly tough spot to come back from. And who knows how the things would've went from there.

the zed outplay was a show of his peak mechanical skills, and the first play that made him famous. But the actual top play saved their team from an immediate loss, leading them to a match point and subsequently winning Worlds, the return to the top. That play not only shows his mechanical skills are still top tier but also his decision making and judgement too (seeing how he made the call that he will do this engage before he actually executed it).

same. It was like 3am and I was so tired and sulking because I knew a JDG baron meant they were going to end the game and probably series up 2-1. I was gonna leave the league scene if they threw away another opporunity for worlds win back to back years. (drx loss, then basically another win if u just beat jdg cause wbg was the best/not hard finals opponent) Then the goat hits one of his most iconic plays and I shot RIGHT UP. I was beaming with joy when that play led to the win.

It's true that a lot of player now already surpassed Faker, but personally no one can surpass Faker as the Greatest of All Time. Yes sometimes Faker losts a game, sometimes he got solo killed, sometimes his plans failed, sometimes he made a mistake, but aren't all players like that? They are humans they are not perfect but Faker almost reach Perfections and the only one who able to do that. Personally, i think Faker set ups a bar of parameter for other players to achieve and surpass. That is why he deserve to be in the Hall of Legends.
