Azael totally nailed the underlying narrative of justice for faker's 2017 run. That was his individual best performance where he literally carried 4 bodies all the way to the finals. His galio was just the pinnacle of his carry potential along with his ryze, where he wasn't just gapping his lane, but roaming to every other lane and gapping theirs too. He was actually everywhere! and that's why uzi and rng still have nightmares about the galio. It was so satisfying to see that insane performance finally be rewarded with a well deserved world title.

I started following T1 in 2017 where everyone expected them to become back to back to back World Champions, just for it to crumble in the finals. Now 7 years later, after going through multiple rosters they found the now legendary ZOFGK and become back to back World Champions. The journey up until now was filled with many many difficulties and heartbreaks, but here we are Faker and T1s 5th Title and his teammates 2nd Title. Just cinema

So cool to see others who had a similar experience getting into League. I started watching 2017 Worlds finals because a friend said it was hype and never did I expect to see such intense emotions like that. As weird as it might sound seeing just how much winning or losing matters to Faker was very compelling and touching and emotional for me to see and I wasn't even playing the finals. This man has had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in his career and somehow still manages to bounce back, to persevere. Not just perseverance alone though would be enough to have a resurgence like this. It's not just glazing, it's not just overhyping someone who's "really exceptional" but isn't as good as people actually say. He is truly the Greatest Of All Time and the wildest thing is his teammates on this new T1 roster are starting to prove that their names need to be considered up there. Maybe not on the exact same level, but absolutely the greatest roster we have ever seen in League history and probably will ever see. I was on the edge of my seat yelling and cheering at my monitor like a mad man this finals. To see this performance out of all of them and especially Faker in those insanely clutch moments and solo kills I'm just stunned with shock and happiness. I both cannot believe he is STILL this insanely good at the game but also am being forced to believe it (or as the Worlds anthem poetically says - Make them believe). I could not be more proud of equally Faker and this ZOFGK roster. Hats off to all of them, they deserve a much needed break and vacation which I hope they all get and take. As a side note, Faker, on top of being inarguably the best mid AND player in the World AGAIN now, he is also a massive philanthropist which many fans and people don't know. For good reason as well as most people who do things out of the goodness of their hearts don't want public praise for it, they just want to help people and do what they can to make the world a better place. Like, how can anyone hate this man. GOAT of League AND he lives a modest life donating a lot of his money to various charities?

For the T1 roster stuff, I feel like Guma said what he said because, even if they want to, it's not that simple. T1 needs to want to keep them (the salaries are high) and most of the players have to renegociate and he's probably aware that saying something as definitive as "We'll stick together." would give some leverage for T1 to downplay the offers when renegotiation start. So I do think there's a chance they stay together, they obviously like eachother a lot, but life ain't that simple.
@snowmochi13732 ай бұрын
With salary cap implemented in LCK, players’ best interest is to stay with T1 at least financially. They get 30% deduction for being with one team. They’re also one international trophy away from receiving further deduction. T1’s COO said, T1 will do its best to resign all of their players. So I believe this roster will stay intact. Hopefully Rekless does too.

On the interview Guma bit the bullet for Keria and said the "corporate" and "uncontroversial" answer for the team. In less than two days after the finals SK Telecom (co-parent company of T1 with Comcast) plastered its own full-page advertisement on all major South Korean newspapers, and the ad featured ZOFGK with the Summoner's Cup. People saw it as an explicit and preemptive declaration from T1's business daddy to all LoL esports teams: "If you think you have enough money to take our boys away from us, *you don't.* Do not try to f**k around and find out." LPL has no money, so unless an unlikely bidding war breaks out between three Korean chaebols (SK for T1, Hanhwa for HLE, and Hyundai-KIA for DK) these five members are untouchable for any other teams. As of Nov 11th people are just waiting for T1lol's official channel to upload a new re-sign video. Fans are willing to buy all the merch if they need to. Edit: HLE and DK doesn't need to wage a bidding war against T1 when they can poach players from GenG much easily. Everyone please press F to pay respects to GenG fans.

I will always come back to the story of when T1's second squad was being assembled from challenger players back in the day. A couple hundred of players were doing try-outs to secure a spot on the roster but there was this one kid who was just so above and beyond others that other players decided to even change a main position from mid lane to other lanes just because they knew this guy was DIFFERENT. The guy I'm talking about was FAKER, he didn't have to try out, the roster was then built following Bengi, Impact, Piglet and PoohMandu. So when people now and in the future start talking about, "oh this guy is better than Faker" and all that shit, keep in mind that these kid's favourite player's favourite player is FAKER. The likes of Chovy, Showmaker, Scout and Knight watched so many VODS of Faker. What does he do in between minion spawns? Where does he ward? What is his recall timing? How does he play teamfights? Back in the day, Faker can solo carry a team but nowadays you actually need a whole roster of competent players to win, it revolves more on a team game more than ever. But don't get it wrong, there are MOMENTS in a series or a game that someone has to make a play that can decide the momentum, flow or result of the game and if you have watched that JDG series last year and this BLG series final then you would know that Faker showed up, time and time again and in those moments made key plays that turned the tides in their favour. Faker, is the GOAT, not just in League of Legends but of Esports, no one will come close to what he has done for a video game and the achievements he has attained, you know what is crazy? HE IS NOT DONE YET, the fire in him is still burning, but one day, he will retire so enjoy these moments because they are fleeting.

@YuYuYuna_2 ай бұрын
@@Gorlax23 I'm almost not convinced that it saved the top fight. It absolutely impacted it, not saying it didn't, but look at how that play went by the time Ahri starts TPing. Elk is 30% hp in zhonya and Zeus is in zhonya as well. By the time it completed it would have been Elk dead to Faker's galio Q and Faker + Zeus dead. A 2 for 1 trade, sounds nice for BLG right? Well look at their HP bars after the play. Zeus and Faker legitimately 2v4'd them lmao. By the time Guma and Oner get over there Rell is 1hp, Jax is 1hp, Elk is dead and J4 is 40% hp. Im pretty sure from that point T1 just backs them into a corner and kills them 3v4 because of their low HP bars. Ahri does have ult but depends on if she uses it to kill Faker or not. Only saving grace play if T1 chose to chase them is if knight hits a charm onto Guma but Guma has ult and Ahri has no flash so it wouldn't be hard for him to react to ahri R -> E and then by that point they lost the fight. Also in this for fun theoretical Poppy would still have ult since she would've been running top to help the fight assuming she didn't know where Ahri was TPing from. Poppy could knock someone away, maybe Ahri still or J4, and the fight is still doomed. T1 going into that 3v4 (in their favor because of the very low HP bars for BLG) would have Poppy R, Xayah R, and Xin R. Lots of tools to outplay them with and they are all so low with no flashes so they have no hope of killing a Xayah with ult.
@trh3xa1742 ай бұрын

Absolutely insane. If Ahri is there they get the kill onto Faker as well and it's a 2 for 1 trade with Elk dying. If that TP finishes BLG would stifle T1's baron play with both solo laners dead. I think maybe T1 still wins the fight though because of how low BLG got. By the time the rest of T1 got there everyone on BLG was incredibly low. Absolutely insane, I hope more people rewatch the games and/or content creators/streamers highlight it.

I'm glad they brought it up in the intro. It really is hard to be dominant over long stretches in a game like League where the meta changes with patches that occur frequently. In any traditional sport the game stays almost exactly the same across decades and once you hone a certain set of skills you can continue to succeed as long as your body doesn't let you down. Here the champs you were good at could suddenly become useless, the playstyle you won with can become impossible, etc. You really do need to have some incredible tenacity and flexibility to be able to tough it out and still come back to the top.

BTW, the COO of T1 stated that on T1's side they're very happy with the current roster and wants to keep them for as long as they can. The ZOFGK brand has also gained a lot of fans and momentum that I think T1 will be very reluctant to give up. On the side of the players, because of the recent LCK salary cap, staying in T1 will allow T1 to pay them 30% more because of how long they've been with the team. It seems doubtful any other team will be able to offer them a larger salary and still maintain a competitive roster. Profit-wise, I just saw a Korean press release stating that T1's sales increased by 45% last year and their merchandise sales are set to overtake even their sponsorships so if the T1 fanbase increases substantially after this year's win like they did last year, T1 might actually finally become profitable. I'm worried of course, but I think there's a strong likelihood this roster will continue.
@baronlightyt9652 ай бұрын
Merchandise profitablity is only short term, if im being honest. Yes, through ZOFGK T1 can gather many fans from each of the players, and that it will always bring potential buyers. The only downside of this is that the timeline of popularity of T1 would be in line with ZOFGK. If any of the player leaves, that is at least a 5%< drop in merchandise sales. This is also potent in faker, as the face of the league. T1's comes still from Faker, and he is the key line towards the breakthrough of the company.... Which is why aside from finding another good player that will represent T1 in League, T1 need to also find success in other games (Valorant is a key point T1 should consider about, as of now they build a good team for Val)
@ofnothing2 ай бұрын

Mark is completely losing the plot in the Best of 3 discussion. The reason people enjoyed Spring was NOT BECAUSE IT WAS BO1, it was because of a completely non-replicable coincidence that all the teams were immensely competitive with each other and the league's overall mechanical skill and execution was much higher than it usually is. People would have probably enjoyed that split MORE if it had been bo3, it wasn't because it was Bo1 that it was good. I'm not watching Bo1, pointe finale. If the only way to be heard is to stop supporting this nonsense then so be it.

there is both bo1, bo3 and bo5 for LTA in 2025. how can you be this worked up?!
@MrAlihassanein2 ай бұрын
@@MRkriegs there's 7 weeks of Bo1 in spring. It's the only standard round robin format we're getting and it's wasted on fucking worthless bo1. I think it's completely reasonable to say enough is enough I'm not watching that shit anymore. LCS fans have supported the product through insane lows and begged for changes like Bo3 for years. After a more than successful implementation, they're walking back on that instantly yet again. At this point, the only way to be heard is to simply not watch and let them fail with their dumbass choices.

If you watch the post game conference in full, Guma only stepped up when Keria couldn’t answer. He started saying he didn’t know if he was going to be playing at all next year (on any team) and then got choked up so Guma took on the question. Honestly I’d be really heartbroken. Even tho it’s unlikely I’m still holding onto a little hope but I wish them all the best and whatever decision is going to make them the happiest I’ll support for sure.

I rewatched this series after seeing it live and when it got to game 5, the very last fight before T1 pushed in to win, I was freaking out like, WHERE IS KNIGHT? WHY ISNT HE TP?? DID HE TP MID? Turns out Keria Poppy Ulted Knight while he was channeling TP. I think that is the most overlooked moment of the final game. We didnt see it because the obs were on the fight in top lane. But if you watch the minimap, you can see Keria walk toward Knight and then Kinght flies back toward his base. EDIT: I paused to type this out right before Azael mentioned it XD

The LTA moving away from BO3 is a huge mistake... if teams are aren't used to playing BO3, they won't be able to draft well against LCK and LPL teams during the BO3s and ultimately, BO5s.

When knight picked smolder, I knew the series was good for T1. Knight plays so badly at internationals, because of pressure. So him playing off comfort in game 4 I figured his mental would be rough if it went to game 5. I could see him wanting to go back to comfort and T1 being able to draft around that.

1:07:23 Did I miss something or did Mark not even answer the question? Is the answer the loser of the qualifying match for whichever conference won? If FLY wins their conference then wins the LTA championship, whoever lost to FLY gets the other seed?
@theelectricant982 ай бұрын
I think so
@arthurmarshall68252 ай бұрын
He answer it, its just Azael asks in way that implies NA will get the 2nd seed and Mark gave an answer that doesn't implies it. NA 2nd and 3rd seed will play off against Brazil 2nd and 3rd seed. The winner of that is the 3rd team going to worlds. They then play the team that lost the 1st seed vs 1st seed match. The winner plays the winner of the 1st seed vs 1 seed match.

Faker is similar to Tom Brady. Multi generational domination. In later years performs even better than his early years
@zebrion57932 ай бұрын
Faker isn't performing better - at least in comparison to his competition. In 2013 he was literally solo winning 1v9 games. He would dominate lanes so hard that the game was over in 8 minutes. In the 2016/2017 era, on Ryze specifically he was winning 1v4 fights, solo killing barons, or solo taking inhibs at like 15 minutes. His farming back then made Chovy look like a bronze player. Faker is MUCH better now at overall game strategy, but as far as level of play he isn't as dominant.
