I guess that's one of the advantages of using a multi-pattern mic in a well treated room. Not only does each pattern sound a little different in terms of frequency response and how much room it picks up, you can also use them to get the amount of proximity effect you desire!

@LEWITT-audio Жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the question. The biggest difference is in the circuitry and voicing of the mic. Sonically, PURE TUBE is warmer with less high mids and less high end air, and a bit of harmonic saturation thanks to the tube. LCT 540 S is brighter and has a very precise and clear tone. I have both, and they sound very different. The 550s is much more detailed than the 440 pure. You can hear the difference on the Lewitt website in the audio examples, especially the piano example. Unfortunately, that example is not available for all microphones, as it really shows how extremely detailed the 540s is. You can compare it directly to the 640TS in cardoid mode. The 540s is much more detailed and has more depth. Comparing the 640TS to the 441flex using the same recording in omni you notice that the 640TS is lightly more detailed than the 441flex. There is a difference, but it is much smaller than the difference between 540s and the 640TS. Then, to make it back to the 440pure, listen to the female voice on both. To my ears, they sound almost the same. There is a small difference in frequency response, so that is about it. Actually, it would be fantastic if Lewitt could record the piano example with all the different mics. That would make it much easier to compare the different mics to each other.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. There are a ton of simplistic audio interfaces on the market. If you only need one channel, I can recommend the Wave XLR by Elgato. If you need more channels, then there is a wider range of manufacturers. We also produce an interface called CONNECT 6, which has a lot of features. This might not exactly be what you are looking for, but I encourage you to check it out as well! I hope this helps! 😉

How to best best understand the different usage between this 540 s mic and the 441 Flex mic? Are they having the same features but that the 540 s is better? or are they meant for very different recording situations? Now you got both at a discount... So need to understand how I best choose the right one for my needs down the road ! 😊 hope to hear back from you guys! thanks
@annekedebruyn77972 жыл бұрын
I don't think they belong in the same category to be compared to. The 540 is more like the 440 PURE. Only one capsule and one pickup pattern. The 441 FLEX is more lik the 640 TS. Two capsules, lots of flexibility in the studio. You should ask yourself what you need. Are you going to use only cardioid? The 540 will have arguably the better sound quality. More detailed, great for lots of processing. Or are you going to record different kind of instruments? Then the 441 FLEX would be your mic. Especially if you want to record stereo with the pattern of 8.
@SimplicityForGood2 жыл бұрын
@@annekedebruyn7797 I see... I think recoding needs will vary over time. For now I will buy an audient id 14 mkll and a good mic to record singing and voice both in training sessions to get perfect feedback to my development as a singer, but also to start to record both singing and professional voice acting to read in scripts for various media like audiobooks, animation movie roles as an actor and video games that can actually be sold and make a living on... But my main focus is singing. And I am sure friends with guitars and keyboards will want to come over and record their instruments as well to make some songs together. My biggest problem I think is that my present room for a home studio is not treated and I need to figure out how to use a condenser mic here in my home as well as treating the room right... Probably I need to close off the fridge and halogen lamps when recoding I guess.... I like the Lewitt brand and their mics seems great! But everyone says skip it and just go with the Shure SM7b and you will not need to treat your room much... But I also like to hear the details in my voice no matter I whisper, go low or high, and so develop my voice in detail! How otherwise to develop if you cannot hear every crack and intonation as well as issues of your voice if the mic cannot catch it!? I also think I will do some experiments in the future for over-head mic recording in old churches , like the churches from 1100 century we have here in my area... But that is a future project and perhaps I will need more than one mic down the road... But I want to start somewhere right now! .... and is hard when you are new to recording to know what you really need! - One does not just want to buy some crap mic to record what ever but record what matters so that you future-proof your expensive equipment and also know you can rely on it to help you develop as a singer and actor over time. Maybe the Shure SM7b is a better choice, but I cannot tell, and so I am trying to communicate my questions here :) Perhaps I am better off with a STAGE-STUDIO mic like the Lewitt MTP 940 ce instead!? -That is a mic where I can hold it and do Stand-up acting in front of my camera at home or bring it with me to a club for acting as well as use at home for recording singing and reading in movie-scripts as well!? But I am not sure that studio-stage mic is as good to catching the details as the Pure 440, Flex, 441 or of course like the one we talked about here, the 540... But perhaps the stage-studio mic is all I need at this time!? Can you help me find out better what I need and what is overkill and what is just not good enough and so not smart at all for me at this tine when I start up my home studio gear!? Thanks for anyone getting back! Is hard to choose when you are new to equipment and need professional understandings so the equipment will last you for years to come! thanks!

It's difficult to find a microphone that fits all the things you are searching for. In general, it's a good idea to get a microphone that is very versatile, especially if you are only starting to record and don't have a lot of different microphones to choose from. If the live aspect is very important to you, then I think the MTP 940 CM is a very good fit! Its sound is very detailed and brings out a lot of clarity, which makes it good for recording, as well as for live use. If you want a mic for recording only we recommend one of our LCT 1" capsule microphones (that includes the LCT440 PURE, LCT441 FLEX, LCT540S, LCT640TS, ...). I hope this helps!😊

Hi there, thanks for your comment. The LCT640 TS has different polar patterns, and a feature called dual output mode. With this feature you can record the front, and the back of the capsule as two separate signals. This makes it possible to change the Polar pattern after the recording with our Polarizer Plugin. You are also able to use LCT 640 TS as a stereo microphone when it is in dual output mode.
