The LCT G3 gearbox is the first one I've ever encountered that had all of the gears press fit into the bearings. that was hell removing them.

my biggest issue with my LCT G3 is the mags are so wank, but ive done the mod by putting a 2mm washer and glued it around the bottom screw hole which pushes it up and they are flawless :D

Sitting here, watching this video while working on my own LCT G3 :D Also ripped out the gearbox as you did, replaced it plus I installed a Begadi Neptun hopup chamber (solved my nozzle length problems). Now somehow it works, but the mags dont. Worst gun to work on I own. My CA M249 by comparison was a dream to get running decently. Somehow still love that thing, externals are really great.

I've got AEX Bushmaster SD which is Modified G3 Shorty from Classic Army. I paid 150$ for it and it came with MF Aluminum gearbox which I assume was standard alloy for gearboxes decade ago ? idk. Either way, thanks to the aluminum gearbox and the unique way G3 gearbox is mounted and held within reciever, gearbox vibrations are absorbed by reciever, I managed to run M180 spring with shs 13:1 gears with good shiming & without radiusing, after good few months of use no cracks are present on gearbox, no wear on gears, nothing. Runs like charm, I'd recommend G3 platform to people who want a DMR on budget, since vibration absobtion is on next level.

Good video. Having spent a considerable amount of time working on a HK33, would not recommend the series. Massive power variances between different magazines. Tried a number of different hop units. Maxx wouldn't work at all, G&G wouldn't let the magazine lock in and a retro arms wouldn't feed. Would be very hesitant to get an LCT aeg where the only magazines are their own brand.

Mine is the same in the sense that I tore everything lct out. It's a decent gun now but the mag feeding issue is still a problem, and it seems to just be an issue with the proprietary mags.

Biggest struggle for me was trying to replace a cracked hop unit. Just ended up going with a replacement stock unit as none of the aftermarket m4 units would enable reliable feeding. Oh and all the mags are bloody trash.

I'll admit, mine was an uphill battle to get running acceptably. Powers really fucky, I've had it jump 20-30FPS and nearly 0.2 joules on .28s with just minute adjustments to the hopup. Still love the gun, even if it has no functional safety (shoots in semi auto)

That was my first gun, lct g3. When you quoted me 600 to put it right, I new it had to go. I sold it on and lost about 100 quid. It's a shame cus i love the look of it. I will never buy a lct again. Now I rock a bog standard m4, parts are dirt cheap and it's a easy fix almost piece. Gear box fucked 60 quid swap it out. Motor fucked swap it out. I just wanna play the game with a working gun. If there's one thing I understood while playing airsoft for the past 7 odd years is that the best gun is a working AEG. Had too many issues with an FN2000 G&G which I still love but the nozzle-rubber-mags-bbs combination is getting the best of me (add some shady tech work done by others) and you get a shit experience.

Shit man. I love G3’s and am/was so excited for the new Lc3k . Not sure what to do now. I thought it was just the mags that were the issue. Got the WE gas G3 and love how it shoots but that’s all. With LCT it seems you get the externals but it won’t fucking work. Can’t win 😂

Some say that LCT G3 have problems with it's stock nozzle, and recommend to change it to the SIG/FAL 22+mm one. Is this true, or the stock nozzle is fine? I'm considering to change the stock nozzle as well, and i dunno if it really worth it. It feeds somewhat fine, and have decent fps, but i dunno if there are any air leaks with the stock nozzle.

I have serious issues w feed on the LCT HK53...i see what yer issue is with them. I seen when my comment of 'lct has issues with QC, my LK53 arrived w feed issues' got 5 likes that this is a common issue...but seeing u get sumthin similar enough working nicely gives me hope i can fix it.

So i have a ca g3 front wired thats only parts, n a jg tk3 that has a legend of a gearbox n is rear wired so i just wan 'the one i wan' bc i wanted the hk53 and if i can find a whole gearbox thatll swap clean, n preferably one i might just have lying around. @@tornike550 Yup. Probably best externals of the non LCT ones but still uses the TM style outer barrel attachment which is ass. Had one of their G3SG1s circa 2008ish. Put a CA33 cocking tube assembly, PDI one piece outerbarrel, G&G navy lower and sliding stock on it to turn it into a G3KA4 and I loved that thing, ending up selling and regretted it ever since.

I'm searching for an airsoft G3 and have had LCT G3 on the top of my list. But now hearing about the fucky mags and basically the whole gearbox being fucked I'm way less hype about it. Any other suggestions?

They are still the best of the g3s sadly. Externally stunning and beautiful.

​@@jediknight1294 not really. They are actually horrible. The VFC G3 is the best. The LCT has tons of ridiculous inaccuracies. The stock mounting base is the most offensive. Then the trigger guard and the pistol grip. There's other stuff, like horrible welds.

@@hellcatdave1 oh they aren't accurate to a real one BUT of the Aeg G3 options they have the best externals. You can't get the gearbox they used into a real g3 grip or receiver without a LOT of internal work. The trigger guard and stock mount is a mix of it being taken from images and compromise for an aeg. Still FAR better than the JG or TM externally. As for horrible welds, some of the real ones aren't great.

@@BugStomper Replace the nozzle, hop unit and feed tube with the Wii Tech parts and be prepared to shim the outer barrel assembly so that it sits solidly. Other than that, do the usual gearbox stuff.

You buy lct for externals. The only reason you buy a lct g3 is because you can't get a ca. With that being said for decent externals is either lct or nothing because jg is abs plastic and creaky and classic army of very hard to find.
