If zips are stiff (like on your delivery bag) a quick and easy solution (especially if you have young kids) is run a wax crayon up and down the zip. The wax lubricates the zip and can help with repelling water on older, slightly stretched zips.

I work at a bike shop. I'd recommend the Urban Arrow Shorty or, if you got it in the UK, Ca Go CS. Two very practical bikes, not that big and with all the loading space perfect for parcels 😁

I have a problem with just eat. Quite often the food has been very cold. I've noticed the food is being prepared because there is a driver. But, then it looks like that driver didn't make it to pick up my order. So the order gets left. And then another driver picks it up but its cold.Just eat wont refund anything anymore at all.Even with food missing (5 times) and melted ice cream.

Once that happened to me & the restaurant rang me and told me that Just Eat had paid them to remake the order because it had been waiting around for so long. So they ended up sending me both the original and remade orders & I reheated the cold one for lunch the next day. I guess they don't do that very often though (or maybe they used to & they don't anymore)

It's nice that you always hand over the grocery orders to customers before asking for the pass code - where I live (Manchester) the riders stand as far back as possible, take the order number first, then deliver 'the goods', kind of like a different sort of delivery..😂

It's not memory but just the cells slowly dying every time they are charged. 500 full charges will get an average battery down to 80% capacity. Some phones have dual cell batteries (imagine two batteries stacked), so they can cycle each one less and make it last longer .

Yeah, being a bit of a twat about it is not very nice BUT I almost got killed the other day or other week by rider skipping the lights, I waited on a rental bike until the lights went green as I always do, I pulled out and turned right onto the highstreet with a flow of traffic behind me doing the same thing, and there was a bus right behind me. As I was about to make it into the next road so I could go into the cycle lane out of nowhere a fast e-bike skips their light without stopping, and almost rides straight into me, like he would crash head on into my right side. I had to swerve and heavily brake in order to avoid hitting him, then before I could really think I had to then jump off the bike and as far left as I could to avoid getting crushed by the bus behind me. I was centimetres away from the bus, centimetres. The guy didn’t apologise, and he didn’t even stop. I still remember when I saw his face, he was looking directly at me whilst cycling off and I was there thinking I’m about to be crushed by a bus and he doesn’t care. Time goes REALLY slow in those moments. Since then I have NO forgiveness for those who skip lights, I never skipped lights myself because a. It really doesn’t cut out as much time as people think b. It’s just a dick move and c. It’s really dangerous. Plus, if you’ve driven before then skipping lights is like the biggest no no. My other huge issue is riding on pavements: the amount of times I’ve been almost hit by cyclists on pavements is insane. And it’s mainly delivery drivers or grown men too scared to ride on the road (even when empty) riding at full speed ringing their bell like you should be getting out of their way. Actually that reminds me of another incident, me and like 10 people on a busy crossing on Holloway Road and then in the distance we hear a bike horn (like the ones on Amazon) ringing incessantly and a clearly unrestricted e-bike with a throttle, a food backpack on his back and a food box on the pannier part zooms past weaving in and out of us, just loudly ringing his horn and shouting get out the way “stupid people”. The cross light was green, had been for a while, the countdown timer hadn’t even started… No forgiveness whatsoever for any of those offences, moped riders are fine, rarely any issues, even e-scooter riders aren’t as bad anymore, but e-bikes ridden by delivery drivers and again other people who simply shouldn’t be riding a bike if they’re too scared to go on a road and think riding full speed on the pavement is okay. Also, to be clear, I am an e-bike rider not a hater, I love my bike, I love cycling and I’m not going to stop. Also to be clear I do not mind someone on a large sidewalk/pavement going relatively slowly or basically walking it either to get into a store, or because the road is extra scary or something. I wouldn’t ride on the pavement but I do get that sometimes they don’t have the confidence to tackle a really big road and need to build it up. But these people are or should be courteous and understand that the pavement isn’t the right place to do that, and bear that in mind when riding on the pavement. Rant over, but if someone is calling riders out for bad or dangerous behaviour then I have nothing against that, if he’s calling people out just to be a tw*t for things that aren’t really unsafe and are just a small mistake then I would probably have a problem there. But “just trying to make a living” is not an excuse for dangerous behaviour, it just isn’t. You ride very well, politely, according to the rules of the road, etc. so should they. Also, moped riders are top notch, no complaints, and not every e-bike delivery rider rides like a tw*t. Rant over, sorry, just really gets me when people do this, I still have flashbacks of that near miss.

Another crazy incident I just remembered actually (cycling in London is crazy), I was on a proper separated bike lane, a nice one the one that goes from St Pancras to Kentish Town through Royal College Street, I’m waiting at the crowndale part at the separate junction for cyclists on that highway, when the light goes green I cross into Royal College Street back onto the highway and then a guy, looked like a tourist comes barreling down on a lime bike going the wrong way, almost hit me head on. I shouted to him and said “WTF” and then told him there’s a cycle lane literally less than 5 metres away going the right direction and he doesn’t give a crap,just keeps riding past on the wrong direction on a Cycle Highway… That day I measured how many incidents would I have on the cycle highway before o reached Kentish Town, it was 4. 2 people in the cycle highway, one stepped without looking & almost got hit, the other was absent minded and hanging out in the highway and was super nice about it. Then there’s the maniac the wrong direction and then there’s this woman on an electric wheelchair who think that turning into an activ cycle highway with a super short, small, black wheelchair WITHOUT LOOKING is a good idea. She caused a rear end collision with me, I spoke to her explained everything etc and she promised not to do it again, especially considering she scared a young-ish kid out of wits because he crashed into the back of me, & it was his first ever crash. What do I see next time I’m there? Her, again, in the dark on the cycle lane at 2mph. And what happens again? The guy in front of me almost hits her, has to brake and she causes another collision. I’ve spoken to her multiple times, she either has some medical reason why she doesn’t understand what’s wrong with her actions or remember why she shouldn’t do it (I don’t think it’s a language barrier btw because I have spoken to her) or she simply doesn’t care. One day it’s not gonna be one of us that gets hit, it’s gonna be here and I’m not sure she’s gonna come out of that crash because both she and the wheelchair are very small and on a proper bike highway like this bikes are usually going at least the full 15.5mph and are much bigger and heavier than her and her wheelchair, especially with cargo. It’s sucks to be honest, we get abused by drivers when we’re on the road, and then pedestrians when we’re on our own roads. We can’t ride on pavements obviously but people need to either respect us on the road or respect our designated road space. “Is that a dedicated cycle highway? Nah, must just be an extension of the already massive pavement, or maybe it’s just more bus stop!” Okay, triple rant over, hope it improves your metrics or something as no-one’s gonna read my boring rants lol
