Hello again Paul. The first time I had ever heard this played was by a gentleman named Clive Williams. He played a slower version but I love both I love the faster version because it gives me a better understanding of how the melody goes. Well done Loved this as well I guess I can't get enough of great accordion. You play so very well. I am sure you are an instructor. thanks your for sharing this amazing little song.

I loved the condenser mic it picked up the accordion treble very well I am guessing you have a mini hook-up on the left-hand bass. Now I see it. Fantastic little song.

Quite agree, really original interpretation. Usually play it a bit more legato for a Schottische dance..

Thanks for your interesting and insightful comment, Robert. This is a little slower than Frederic Paris himself played Le Canal on his original recording on Rue De L'oiseau and is roughly in the middle of typical dance speeds for a schottische.
