Yes, there is something fun about finding nice knives that are less than $20 and not made in the Far East. Opinel, Old Bear, Joker. The carbon steel versions are a change from stainless, and sharpen so well. Would love to have a high end knife someday, maybe after the kids are through college :)

@@shempdoll Ah, that’s how the trouble started for me mate. Stil like my Opinels, my Old Bear and my Nieto knives (also Spanish, i never tried Joker knives though). But the budget per knife seems to climb quite high during the last years. Ah wel, just call it a hobby 😉

Ich hab auch eins und benutze grundsätzlich immer alle Messer die ich besitze. Bei dem hier hatte ich zum ersten Mal leichte Gewissensbisse, es zu nutzen weil es so perfekt verarbeitet ist. Das hat sich mittlerweile gegeben und ich erfreue mich an der Nutzung. Es hat mir einen Aspekt der französischen Messer gezeigt, der mir so nicht wirklich bewusst war.

Die Scheu, hochwertig verarbeitete Messer für profane Schneidarbeiten zu verwenden, hatte ich früher auch. Irgendwann siegt aber die Freude an der Benutzung über die Angst, dem Messer Gebrauchsspuren zuzufügen.

@@StefanSchmalhaus ich musste auch selbst über mich schmunzeln weil das doch ein sehr ungewohnter Gedanke für mich war. Das taugliche Original Etui, das man zum Glück quer tragen kann - bei so einem grossen Messer für mich wichtig - gab dann den Ausschlag, es genau wie alle anderen Messer in die Rotation zu nehmen. By the way: mich würde mal Deine Meinung, bzw. ein Video von Dir zum Otter York sehr interessieren ;)

Endlich mal ein Messer Kanal, der qualitativ hochwertige Messer zeigt. Ich bin gestern über Ihren KZbin Kanal gestolpert und habe sofort ihre Videos verschlungen. Ich finde besonders die Videos über Fontenille Pataud sehr interessant, deshalb wollte ich nachfragen, ob Sie diese Marke wirklich empfehlen können. Da ich in näherer Zukunft ein "Laguiole Nature" von dieser Marke erwerben möchte, diese jedoch einen stolzen Preis haben, will ich lieber nicht voreilig zuschlagen, sonst bereue ich den Kauf am Ende.

Fontenille Pataud stellt wahrscheinlich von allen französischen Manufakturen die höchsten Ansprüche an die eigenen Produkte. Jedes Messer dieser Marke, das ich bislang in den Händen hielt, war vorbildlich verarbeitet. Ja, ich kann die Marke empfehlen. Demnächst werde ich übrigens das neue Modell "Pradel" von Fontenille Pataud vorstellen.

Ich habe mir ein liadou bestellt mit wüsteneisenholz ohne Korkenzieher. Ich bin gespannt, ich wollte eigentlich ein L08, aber das kostet mit gleich Beschalung mal 180 Euro mehr. Ich liebe französische Messer.
