Hello Toadstool Tarot! Thanks for this video on a beautiful T de M deck. It is in the Conver style but from the Camoin printing from the 1800's. It's the same source as Paul Marteau copied his Tarot de Marseille (1930) from with the Grimaud publisher which is so commonly used all over France. While the Camoin version line work is very close to the Conver, the use of color is sometimes different (note the reverse of red and blue on the Magician) as is a few cards like the 2 of Cups with the red table below (martial drew that to emphasize the passionate/sensuality at the base of love relationships) or the 4 of Pentacles with the Tulip the center instead of the Fleur de Lis.. Actually the 1930 TdeM by Grimaud had a fleur de Lis in the center of the 4 Pentacles but Frances Carter took over the publishing for all subsequent printings and for some reason inserted a Tulip design in the middle. So there are a few details that might interest you in one of your favorite marseille decks! Best, Anne

Sure, I like this deck. Although I've more drown to the 'Spanish tarot', an older version than Tarot of Marseille, probably.

Thanks for your calm and clever review. It is true there are not many credits refs, but Maritxu de Güller was a very special woman, a natural sensitive, quite known in Spain. She died many years ago, though. She worked on the 'El gran tarot esotérico', a treasure.. It's easily available.

This is the first tarot deck I ever got 32 years ago. Mine have more faded colors but I guess it is the aging. Heraclio Fournier is the manufacturer (Based in Vitoria, Spain) . For what I kown A. Aymerich is the artist. I also found a website (in spanish but I had google translate it in french ) nhfournier.es . Oh and I still have my old copy but do not used it anymore . Thanks to you now I also know I can get another copy to shuffle again !

LOVE the colouring and the tesselations on the card back. Also a big fan of Fournier decks (except Legends) Robin you'll love their Spanish Tarot. I first got drawn to them through getting El Gran Tarot Esoterico. Love their deck sizes and card stock.

I've seen a couple of walkthroughs and like the earlier edition better; it's on an ivory background and the figures aren't as dark. The newer edition seems a bit jarring on stark white backgrounds. And all those blondes in the deck are a bit much. I'm happier with the color palette on Marseille here, though I'm less fond of the minors, I think, than your Arnault deck.

I have this deck. I agree, i like the card stock. It is very slidey! Lovely colours. The pips are lovely too. I feel it's such a warm deck 😊
