CW Stoneking - RUSH 2015

C’est peut-être dû à l’éloignement et au décalage horaire, mais en Australie, le musicien CW Stoneking vit encore dans les années 30. D’aileurs, vit-il vraiment en Australie ? Sa musique arpente, un triangle d’or de la musique américaine vintage, entre le Delta du Mississippi, le gospel de Memphis et les rythmiques chaloupées des Caraïbes - tous territoires visités et documentés par Alan Lomax. Sur son dernier album, l’élégant CW Stoneking est passé à la guitare électrique, et sa musique d’esthète primitif a gagné en groove, même si elle sonne encore comme un T-bone steak jeté sur la grille du barbecue.
