Fun fact : Lea was the one who encouraged Rachelle Ann to audition for Miss Saigon. She didn't get the lead role but it made her dreams come true.
@MrSuperralph234 жыл бұрын
And it was because Rachelle was already 26 that's why she didn't get the role of Kim. She was already old for the character that's why she didn't get the role and not because of any other reasons. 😊

Lea looked like one proud mama when Rachelle was belting out.

This was from a special 25th Anniversary celebration of MISS SAIGON in the West End since the show was being revived. Lea was in the original West End and Broadway productions. Rachelle was in the West End revival in 2014. Can you believe Lea was 18 when she originated the role of Kim? And she is 15 years older than Rachelle here?

thank you for discovering what I discovered two months ago. Rachelle Ann Go. I love Lea as well, so crystal clear and emotive, but Rachelle belts her face off, lol!
@labellavita124 жыл бұрын
Musical theater is not about belting.. but clarity and being a good story teller as well. I like Rachelle but i love Lea. Rachelle Ann used to be a pop singer but her career didn't really take off so glad that she's doing what she's doing now. She found what makes her happy.

And if you're looking for someone who belt...look in the Philippines.. a lot of belters so you better be not just reaching those notes. You have to be special to be recognize.

During the heydays of MS, the talks were about RachelleAnn, Monique Wilson & Lea. It was an exciting time for Broadway musicals followers. Yes, Rachelle Ann holds her own in theatre arts. She was in Miss Saigon, Tarzan, Hamilton, among others.
@salvadoroars4 жыл бұрын
Glad you noticed the difference. The producer's during the gala gave the artist some liberty to their vocal sounds since it's like celebratory performance. Hence the more poplikr belting attack of Rachelles since she's firstly a pop artist

Rachelle Ann Go is the champion of Search for a Star about 10 yrs. ago which was hosted by Regine. She also competed in Eat Bulaga's Birit Babies when she was about 10 yrs. old (not sure about this). She also idolizes Regine and was part of a sunday show with her.

Rachelle's belts came from a brighter place, and had more power to me. Lea mixed more and had more warmth in her voice, plus rasp. Fuller tone doesn't mean more power. I was more wowed by Rachelle technically, but Lea emotionally.
@labellavita124 жыл бұрын
Lea did her version originally on what required her to do... rachelle belt it like a popstar. She do not do the same version on the play itself. One of the requirement for being the lead of that show is for her to belt an E5 with ease. Lea can belt just not doing it all the time.
@alvinpastor78144 жыл бұрын
Rachelle asked Claude Michel, the lyricist/composer of this song, if she can tweak it, and she got a thumbs up. Likewise for Lea, she stated in an interview that she would do a fuller/thicker timbre and version instead of doing her Kim's innocent voice. I love both, though. I grew up following Lea ever since she was knee high and did the same to Rachelle when she was starting in the Philippines showbiz. Lea had admitted time and again that she can't belt as high as other belters but yes, she can...but Rachelle, who was just a novice in the musical theater, was able to showcase her innate and incredible talent in both worlds - pop and musicals - to which Lea wrote in her column in a newspaper article that "Go is incredibly talented." Indeed, I absolutely agree with you that Rachelle is a powerhouse in all aspects, not to mention that she can also play the drums and used to whistle-dog, too.

Rachelle asked Claude Michel, the lyricist/composer of this song, if she can tweak it, and she got a thumbs up (she was given an option by Claude in the first place, if I'm not mistaken). Likewise for Lea, she stated in an interview that she would do a fuller/thicker timbre and version instead of doing her Kim's innocent voice. I love both, though. I grew up following Lea ever since she was knee high and did the same to Rachelle when she was starting in the Philippines showbiz. Having said that, there's really nothing to compare because to each her own, they've got their own strengths, weaknesses and where they excel at. What matters is they're both friends, supporting each other and making us all in awe in however they perform. I gave you thumbs up for this brilliant reaction and subscribed to your channel. Hoping to watch more of Lea or Rachelle or Rachelle or Lea reaction videos. Thank you so much.

There was a 2016 movie of this Revival of Miss Saigon... It was filmed live while the actors sing in the theater... It's quite good, try to access it maybe it'll compensate with the cancelled theater shows. It will seem like you are in the theater yourself, you'll never thought of it as a movie but a the real deal theater play itself... Stay home and stay safe.

Rachelle Ann Go is another "daughter" of Regine Velasquez. She championed another TV Singing Contest after Sarah won the previous year, where Regine was also the host. Then Jona... and so on... Lea was one of the big names who encouraged Rachelle to audition Miss Saigon, and she landed the role of Gigi. There, during the 25th Anniversary of Miss Saigon, they got to sing together again.
