Most of the singers in the country are famtastic , but if there is one singer from the Philippines that is worth all the hype and recognition, it's Lea. I never heard her sing out of tune, and has a very distinct, crystal clear voice. Jasmine, Mulan yep she did them both.

I think Lea was 24 years old here (for the 10th Anniversary concert of LES MIZ). She had already won acclaim (and an Olivier and Tony Award) for originating the lead role in MISS SAIGON. She had been working professionally in her home country since age 7. Tagalog (also called Filipino) is the national language, but Filipinos learn Tagalog and English in school. Certain subjects like math and science are solely taught in English.

This was the 10th anniversary (of Les Mis) concert in the Royal Albert Hall with a specially selected 'dream cast' of the best performers from its previous ten years. So yes they did pick somebody who could 'bring it'. I believe she was 24 at the time of this concert, though some years younger when she first played Eponine on Broadway. (After being the lead in Miss Saigon). She later played Fantine in the same show, and sang "I Dreamed a Dream" in the 25th anniversary concert. Robk's reaction to 'the pavement shines like silver' - I have that reaction too.

Fantastic performance from start to finish. A lot of reactors forget that even as the song is finished, she still keeps in the character even while the audience is giving her a standing ovation. Excellent actress here!
