Tea light candles in a muffin tin can be used as a stovetop to heat up food or water.🎉
@SiCaRiI_DaGgEr11 ай бұрын
Sure can, I use the 6-8hr tea candles under an upside down clay pot as a heater, it perfectly heats up my small bathroom that has wall that faces outside so it's pretty cold during the winter.

Such good advice - thank you!. I'm located in the Huntsville Alabama area... whew, got so cold! We were nervous we were going to loose power. We've been shut down for 2 days now. Hope you're staying warm? Here's one little trick I saw onlin - use a muffin time with tea lights =- 4 cups & 4 tea lights - you can heat water for oatmeal, tea, soup, etc.

I love living the preparedness lifestyle. You show gallons of water. Water is vital. Keeping and storing water in those milk jug type containers will only bring you heartache. That type of jug will start to biodegrade and you will get pin holes and ruin so much when you spring pin hole leaks. I know this yet for some reason I thought I was immune. I had a jug of distilled water for my oxygen concentrator. I was a terrible mess when we realized that gallon had leaked and soaked so much. I had to buy another gallon but immediately water bath canned it. I need it when I need it and now it’s shelf stable. I also have water storage in 4 55 gallon barrels.

Someone mentioned letting the water that's running in the faucet collect into bottles or something. That way the water is not wasted.

May I also suggest a few of the rubber hot water bottles and a way to heat up water to fill them with. Maybe a butane stove. Grab you a warm hot water bottle and get under blankets. This is something that could help in an emergency.

Hi! Granny Karma, glad to see you doing so well. I did the same kind of soup for those cold days. It was so good!! We have a gas stove. So I use it all the time. It doesnt depend on electric. I am so glad you and Lead Farmer made me get better prepared for any storms or outages. I have learned many tips to use over the years for my home and family. To keep us warm and cozy. I did purchase an extra Buddy Heater as well. I have a old timey floor gas heater in my kitchen with the grates in front. I call it my Granny heater. Wouldn't trade it for anything! Had plenty of water and all. Already set and ready to go. You were one of the people that made me get over the fear of pressure canning. Watching you!! Sure appreciate all your videos. So many young people need this information. They are not being taught how to take care of themselves. For when they get out on their own.😊

You can set up a tent in a small room to help keep the heat in for everyone! Keep it zipped closed and you will notice a temp difference inside the tent and the room around it, pad the floor with an extra sleeping bag or blanket. You can get moving blankets pretty cheap at the discount tool stores (can't remember the name right now, sorry. We buy them for homeless as ground blankets but they will work for blankets as well. Sometimes I can get them for $5 on sale. We also put them on our truck seats, cover plants when it gets too cold, etc.. they only last around 2 years depending on their use but we'll worth it.

Stay warm there. It's rough most of the country. So cold my furnace came on with a woodstove going. Woke me to get the fire going. Best debt I ever had. Had power go out around me. I was lucky. Just a few houses left and right had no power. Canned salmon was a cheap meal when I moved out right out of the can. If it wasn't for major dental, it would pay for a large solar generator. Always something and wish I had instead. Got a gas generator but takes a long time and the thing is huge to move through all that snow. Can't move it anymore myself. Winter I got coolers for food and Bungie cords to keep critters out like raccoons.

Forgot, here in the Cali desert I have a friend who uses fresh horse dung (hard to find cow dung) to pack on his exposed water pipes. You can do this during the summer, he has never had a burst water pipe and as it chips off during the year it is easy and FREE to add to to fix back up!
