I’ve been watching KZbin lessons for years now, and I came across this lesson and I think you explained how to play a simple lead to me where I can actually understand what you’re saying. Instead of talking about Pentatonix scales and confusing terminology. I will continue to look for your videos. Keep up the simple but informative lessons.

That was a great lesson I really appreciate it. Do you have any suggestions on how to practice? I bought a Looper but it was defective and I haven't replaced it yet. I am looking for ways to help me practice and gain confidence and encouragement. I have been playing for years but I haven't gotten much better and I usually get frustrated and put it down again. Vicious Circle!@!~
@allaboutguitaracademy15 күн бұрын
Thank you! 👍🏼😃🎸 my suggestion would be to practice at least 10-15 minutes per day, focus on one skill at a time (chords, solos, picking, etc..), and make it fun! Don’t try to do everything all at once. You can do it!
@robertschaeffer58039 күн бұрын
One thing you can do, is to work on your picking hand, and also find the best pick that allows you to not overwork your hand but let's you feel the definition in your picking also finger exercises really help even simple ones

Hey Bob , I've been through instructors on and off line, but today I think I found someone who can actually reach me. I'm pretty much unteachable, between all my physical challenges and ADHD I'm a lost cause, beginner for life. But i did follow this lesson. I'd like to get your course, but it's not on PayPal

Hey, thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the lesson and I appreciate your support! As far as the online 24/7 FAST TRACK GUITAR course, you should be able to purchase that with any credit or debit card, PayPal, etc.. at allaboutguitaracademy.com, but I will check into this and get back to you asap, meanwhile ... stay tuned for more!

Playing a blues progression, in A , how do you switch from playing in one area, fret location to another as the chords change ?
@Dave-Rough-Diamond-Dunn15 күн бұрын
Well you're going to go the the 10th fret for the D chord, and to the 12th for the E chord, but what you play when you get there is up to you. Some people like to slide up one of the strings to the next fret position, some will start with whatever they started with at the 5th fret position (A), but I think going from the A position to the G string at the 12th fret and bending it will work nicely for you, then of course playing between the 10th and 12th frets for the duration of the D chord. You can also move up and down by holding the high E string and B string together on the fret of the root note, that gets you there nicely for a 12 bar blues. Remember that the notes on the high E string are the same as the notes on the low E string, so that will work. I assume the adding the E and B to get the full minor pentatonic will be in the next video on playing lead though.

Great question and glad others are responding to this. Stay tuned, I have a video coming out soon that will dive into playing blues progressions. Be sure to check out my 12 bar blues video too 👍🏼😃🎸

I wish we could get that word "lead" to go away. Guitar does NOT necessarily "lead" the band, same thing with "lead" vocal. Big time egos and attitude problems there.
