Not me...I use Gibson Les Pauls. All humbucker guitars. Well, I do have one with p 90s. My amp is a 100 watt peavey windsor, I do use an attenuater though when I run through the pre amp. Most of the time though I have my vox tonelab ex running through the return of the fx loop.

Good tips and tricks man. Thanks for sharing. One thing I would caution is the use of click tracks and background pads. Not taking away from their usefulness in certain situations, like at rehearsal, but when you use them during a worship set they lock you into doing a song one particular way, when in fact the Holy Spirit may want you to do a chorus again or just rest in a down part for one repeat longer or really anything out of the box that was planned. One thing about God and boxes is that when you make a box to put God in He usually ends up standing beside you saying "Nice box".

That is the sound of the Agape amp we're using set on the verge of breakup (so when you dig in it breaks up). We are running a boost (from the Will Sledge FX The Veil) to push the amp a little harder. If you click through to the page on Worship Tutorials we list all the gear we're using in this video with links to reviews we've done as well as kings to purchase.

That two note 'chord', that would be a dyad (like a triad) which implied a chord. The classic dyad like you used takes the third note and fifth note. Very country - like most CCM.

Why don't all the negative Nancy's find something better to do with your time? These guys made a video in an effort to help someone who wants to learn something about playing guitar and may not have the time or money to take lessons. If you think it's rudimentary or don't like the production find something else to watch. Why do you need to criticize?

Here's one of many great examples of why it's important to find yourself a guitar teacher who has been through a college/university music program for guitar instead of trying to learn from KZbin guitarists. This guy is all over the map in his explanations, and explaining easy concepts incorrectly. This is the stuff that I have to correct and explain to my students because they become stumped and confused by it when they watch amateur stuff like this.
@worshiptutorials7 жыл бұрын
Rink - the irony here is that Bradford is a college educated musician, and he knows theory quite well. The problem is putting all that education/theory into a bite-sized video aimed at a beginner guitar player is difficult. Our goal is to give players something they can use without confusing them. I agree that private lessons are the best way to learn, and that it is important to understand the basics of music theory. We should also strive to do a better job in explaining what's going on fundamentally as well, but achieving that balance is not easy.
@davidrinkman96057 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. It begs the question: why create a video with advanced techniques that is aimed at beginners? This is my point. The student that comes to me and is a beginner and wants to play, say speed metal, needs to take steps to get there. It is absurd to skip steps and try to "dumb it down" so to speak and not use the correct terminology. It's the skipping of steps, and omission of information - such as in this video - that leads to poor playing, bad habits, confusion in students, etc. The true irony is, though Bradford is post-secondary educated and can play, he has simply added to the backlog of KZbin videos that hinder rather than help. Playing is one thing. Being able to teach what you know is another.
