Evening Stuart….. hope yr well and drinking plenty of water… roofing in this type of weather is as much of a mental Challenge as well as physical … I’ve always said you’ve got to WANT to do this job cos it’s not easy at times… Excellent work as usual …. And a customer made cup of tea and bacon sandwich around 10 am is always a nice surprise…. And they are normally the sort of customer who I will go the extra Mile for if need be…. But yr customer looked like an elderly gentleman who probably made it as a peace offering….especially if u were playing radio 1 …!😂👍 Cheers my friend… Much love Chris…🙏👍

Thanks Chris the weather has definitely been challenging this week. And it looks like this extreme weather is going to happen more and more. I’ve decided to invest in a work fan. I think it will make those hot days so much more bearable. The lengths I’ll go to to get a fan 😳🤦🏻♂️😂. It was a really nice customer and as you say you want to go the extra mile for customers like that.

Lovely job mate.... standard. We got cream cakes today on the roofing job we're on... and beer's on a Friday to take home

Thank you. Oh wow that’s awesome. It’s really nice when the customer does something like that. Hopefully you’ve got a few more Fridays there.

Thank you. I’m pretty sure I have this on one of my vids. But I’ll do another one just in case. Next time the opportunity presents itself.

Hi Stuart.... Another quality job 👌. I go to a boiler service once a year with a bacon and egg sandwich waiting for me on arrival

Thank you. That sounds like a lovely customer. Most times I’m lucky to get a cup of tea.

brilliant job bud, just curios as only two bays, i would of thought at least three. is there reasoning behind this. nice to see you back.
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It was two bays as this was well within 1.2 square meters of which is the maximum size allowed for code 5.

Is fiberglass eating into your work ? Lead work is such an art .I've installed the manufactured fiberglass porches, can't beat your skill tho .
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I do love the look of lead porches but I also see why sometimes it’s not practical. Mainly because of theft. Any lead work low down is always a risk.

Can't beat a lead canopy 🤘👍💪

hi great vid what would happen if you didnt use paper under lead thanks again
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you and thanks for watching the vid. The building paper reduces corrosive attack when laying onto plywood or oak. It also acts a vapour barrier and helps the lead move.

We never get sandwiches, it’s rare we get a cup of tea ffs 😂 if we’re working local enough my mrs will make us bacon n cheese turnovers and a couple flasks of tea and coffee though 😋 nice little treat for the lads 👌

It rarely happens to me either so I was well made up. I’m jealous off the thought of bacon and cheese turnovers though🤤🤤

Great work as usual. Would you mind telling us how many mm do you turn up inside the copper strip. Cheers.
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I Turn it up 25mm on the inside edge of the copper strip.
@StevenAyre16 ай бұрын
What's the reason for the copper drip edge? Is it just something to shape the lead / grip onto?

Do you have to do anything special with the runoff when you have a lead roof? Is it safe to garden with, is it safe for animals, people?
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
I have never heard of any measures in place for the runoff from a lead roof. However I wouldn’t recommend any pets or people drinking this water as it could potentially be contaminated. And if this water was often drank lead poisoning could occur. This is why lead water mains are replaced.
