Leading GOP candidate for N.C. governor targets transgender restroom use

Transgender restroom access is back in the spotlight in the Republican race for North Carolina governor after the leading candidate, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, said transgender women should be arrested over bathroom use. WRAL's Laura Leslie reports.

I’m a straight married father of three. Two daughters and a son. My daughters were born in 2011 and 2013. When HB2 passed in 2016 police had no interest in enforcing it. In fact when several police chiefs were questioned they replied they did not have the resources to adequately enforce such a law. But what it did was make us lose billions in business across NC and it made Karen’s throw a fit about father likes me taking their young daughters to the men’s room because they were too young to into the women’s room alone and clearly I wasn’t going into the women’s bathroom with them. This is a non issue in this state. NC has very few trans people and even less instances of there being issues in bathrooms. It’s also a non issue because after the last ban many business added additional bathrooms
