So far your version matches what I hear closer than other tutorials on hear.I bend more and place the same notes in different places but yeah. I suggest everyone use your ear to learn any song first...although it may take time and it might not be perfect,the rewards will come back 10 fold in the future.Trust an old guitarist that HAD to learn everything by ear.

Great example of Gaines playing. The guy was just brilliant. Lyrically, guitar picker and song writer. I live where he grew up (SW Missouri near Miami ok) I talk to his old band mates who are still around, and they’ve all spoken about how humble and kind he was. Keep it alive, thanks for putting this together.

Very stellar lesson, sounds the most like the recordings. I've seen other vids and everyone has their own slightly different rendition as it is difficult to pull off by ear. Nice job!

Yes, as someone who grew up playing a lot of classic rock and blues and being pretty good at it, I can say I basically gave up trying to play his solos. I can do approximations, but there are things he does... things so sharp and fast and stuttering but smooth... I just could never get the feel. Super underrated guitarist.

@@MrAndersonmm yes indeed he was a natural, he had some kind of skill that you cant learn, born with it.

You play it perfectly note for note wow! Nice. One bit of critique though. Just the techniques used are slightly off. The intro c to c# notes are slid between the picking of them like a legato slide rather than played as separate notes. And the descending A chord arpeggiated notes are chicken picked economy style. Just minor things all in all that don't have much bearing on the song just interesting to see the way others play this song online. Cheers my dude! You play great. ☺️
@LEADSOLO4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. When I listen closely, to me it sounds like he picks each note, c to c#, without a slide. I paid particular attention to that to try to get that right. That's just what I heard when I slowed it down, and also when I listen to it in real time. I don't know how you can be sure he slides those notes when I don't hear it.
@tbonuss4 жыл бұрын
I think he picks the A riff the first two, and then slides when he goes back to it after the two string part. Maybe :)

These licks were so fast I had to slow the video down to.25 speed. The funny thing is, you sound like you’re drunk and your speech is slurred at that speed. Hilarious.
@LEADSOLO4 жыл бұрын
Yes I've heard that 'drunk' effect on a video from another and it WAS hilarious! I know what you mean!
