Just amazing. What was needed to elevate the game from excellent to hall of fame! Events are usually my favorite thing in dungeon crawls but the lore book for the legendary items is simply genius. That makes these items truly special. I can't wait for the reprint since I missed the first campaign.

I absolutely love League of Dungeoneering, my biggest issue was the rulebook, but the BGG community is helping out with improving that, plus Michael has released a FAQ and errata. II appears that there will be an update pack for existing backers, and really want to know what it contains. As a solo player, LoD is an incredible and unique experience providing everything I want and look for in a crawl. Hands down, one of my favorite games ever. Please continue to cover this game and all updates. As always, love your videos, you rock, Daniel! Please work on the rulebook!!!!!

I agree that the art on the event cards add so much to the game. Adding lore also never hurts either. I look forward to further VOD's you may put out for this game or any other games you have on deck. I am anxiously waiting for my copy of GodShard so I can do some serious exploring!

Very happy to see more events and the art style is so good! Personally I hope that stuff like comfy socks are kept to an absolute minimum though. 😆 Give me a cool cursed weapon like Stormbringer instead.

Great video and WOW I am loving the direction Michael is taking League of Dungeoneers! I hope Michael will be a full time game designer when this is all done. I can see this being a lifestyle game that even fans will begin writing expansions and adventures for. For me it is the grail game to bring a D&D RPG experience to a board game. And we get to be there from the start. Can’t wait for the expansion!

It's a bit of a trickier balancing act adding stuff to the base game. While it would undoubtedly improve it, it causes tension with people who back the first printing, because they'll perceive it as an attempt to force them to pay for the game again, so we have to be careful about making the reprint too different. Would like to squeeze some new art where we can get away with it though! (I'm one half of the art team...)

wow, this game is really attractive to me, I love games like this that have plot development, with main quests and various side quests that allow me to fully immerse myself in the content.

Love the larger Event Cards, Love the old HQ-style Art, and Seems the Text is larger as well, which helps my Old Eyes !!!! When it reprints I hope all the Game is Upgraded to this style, I'll Back it ALL over again to get it upgraded, Very Nice Treasure card art (Though the HQ style art would make it Fit better together all being the same), I do hope they Change the treasure card Like to backs, maybe a more stand out apart background color to easier distinguish different levels or the Loot (Mundane, Fine, Wonderful and Now Legendary) ... I would like to see the Art from the standees on the Monster Cards, even if like a Ghost art in the background of the Existing card, and Final Want ... Please fix all the Erata from the last Printing as well as any Grammar before Kickstarting it.

We actually did the legendary items art first, and we did it in the same style as the standees. We switched styles when we got to the event cards because we wanted to do art for every single card and we wanted to get very complicated with the story-telling. Each event card is basically like comic panel full of action and detail, and limiting it to black-and-white allowed us to do a lot in a limited time-frame.

@@bravesirkevin I Love the comic Panel Idea, sort of the same as what I was thinking for the Panel for finding a Legendary sword, I really Like the HQ style, I Understand it's pretty hard to change it all now I guess But I would bet the black and white is cheaper than Color to print, been going over everything in the KSer Box I just got, other upgrades I would love to see, Better page quality for the rule book, paper quality is pretty bad, also the Cards are just cut card, like to see a Linen Matte finish to the cards. (Own both the Print on Demand and the KSer now and the game quality is just getting better and better)

I think the real test for the longevity for LoD will be how strongly the community rally behind it to make custom content for it. Imagine someone like LittleMonk starts making content for LoD?!

I just received my shipping notification yesterday. My only fear is that art will be added to everything in the 2nd printing. I hope he includes an Upgrade Kit tier to the upcoming campaign. I don’t want to buy everything again if I don’t have to.

@@jonathana6298 LoD artist here...There will be an upgrade option for people who have the base game and it will be available as cheaply as possible. That is actually a limiting factor in how much can reasonably be upgraded in the base game. We might add some new art to the book because that's definitely going to be in the upgrade kit anyway, but cards are tricky. Each deck we add to the upgrade kit makes it more expensive to produce and ship, so to keep costs down there, we either have to leave the cards the same in the reprint, or upgrade the cards but leave them out of the upgrade kit. The third option, upgrading the cards and including them in the upgrade kit, will likely make the upgrade kit quite expensive, and will undoubtedly lead to accusations of greedy price-gouging.

How does this game work with a DM, does anyone know ? It says in the BGG description: "but could be played with a game master as well".

One person could just control all the monsters and bad guy stuff, and make up adventures for the other players, so it would be pretty easy to do. It's a basic D100 system with skills and stats.

I've been gravitating more towards smaller, more simple games over the years. When I did my top 50, I don't think I had even played this, or if I had it was in an early prototype form, and not played enough. I can't remember.

The only trick is that you'll have to go months without getting to play! The second printing is not likely to deliver until 2024

@@bravesirkevin Aye, I considered that, but am already on the fence about whether or not I will love LoD: My favourite games are euros and I strongly disliked Rangers of Shadowdeep (which seems similar to this). However, I want a solo/co-op game that can simulate a D&D experience with tactical gameplay and give me an excuse to 3D print cool fantasy minis, so I still want to give LoD a shot!

Great video, and thanks for sharing some of what we can expect from the expansion. The events, lore and art are going to elevate LoD and I'm almost certainly going to back it and get the updated rulebook. The way Michael is managing every aspect of this passion project is setting a high bar that many other much larger publishers should be aiming for. Huge respect and credit to him.
