Had fun watching the video. Reminds me of the time I first played this game lol. Dota's heroes often have one broken skill/mechanic and everyone has it. It's like the main philosophy is if everyone's broken, nobody's broken(granted, there's always a counter for anything, even items counters some heroes hard).

I dont play dota2 since 2019.. Its the hardest moba so far i played since dota 1 i only achieve 3k mmr (probably equivalent of 3rd lowest rank in lol) While i switch to mobile legends in 2020 in just a span of 3 months im in mythical glory (equivalent of highest rank in lol) except global leaders of course... Its beneficial to be at least be decent at dota to excel in other mobas i believe

And this is the simplified version of Dota. Back as a w3 mod we had to individually look for the items, their corresponding recipe and ingredients to build them alongside looking for the right merchant since there were like 6 different shopkeepers that sold the items lol it was a hassle

Tip: Items can be use to yourself, enemies or allies depending of the effect For example You build Etheral Blade which gives physical immunity to anyone you cast on even yourself but it recieves more magic damage to the one who you cast on.

I spent the first half of this video thinking "he has no idea the ult is a channel, does he?" but you figured it out in the end. Pretty sure you didn't have a clue what your e does though, but fortunately you figured out that the ult really hurts and that ended up being enough. Also don't know if I saw you use an item active once, which was extra humorous since nearly all of them were items that provide most of their value through the active, but admittedly when you aren't used to the game or using items it can take a while to get them in your brain. There are also a ton of map features, mechanics, and objectives that I don't think you engaged with but those will also take a lot of experience to get familiar with and watching new players fumble around and discover new stuff can be entertaining.

I actually will use active items in league but I don’t think they seem to be nearly as necessary as in Dota. I started using it in the most recent game but forgot once again lolol. As for map objectives: I I should learn to play a lane first haha

@@studeogames Ironically, I'd say item actives are more important in dota than league, though admittedly I only got about 5 games in since the season 11 item rework (cause 5 games is all I could stand the toxicity for), and most of my experience with league before then was like season 4-6 area. However, generally from what I know of league items, they have on average less of their power budget in the active than dota items do (except for maybe QSS). Even outside of extreme examples like blink dagger (which gives 0 stats) most active items in dota you buy for the active with the stats being a secondary bonus. Except for power treads, battle fury, phase boots, mjollnir, sometimes ethereal blade and diffusal, and maybe harpoon and hurricane pike, I'd say every other active item has 50-100% of its value come from its active. You probably feel like the actives aren't as important because you are in a lower skill bracket in dota than you were in league so mistakes and inefficiencies aren't punished as much. Plus abilities in dota tend to be more inherently powerful than in league and items are often used to cover the hero's weakness, but if the enemy isn't good at exploiting those weaknesses then the item matters less (though is less true for auto attacking carries). However, the differences between league and dota in terms of abilities, items, and scaling is way too big of a topic to be covered so succinctly. And yeah lol, probably would be good to focus on lanes and fundamentals before worrying about objectives, but I would at least recommend familiarizing yourself with the jungle. Unlike in league, basically everyone in dota should interact with the jungle throughout the game (though creep pulling and stacking is a somewhat advanced technique I would worry about yet). For everyone but the supports finding time and space to farm jungle is a big part of their game, and even supports in the current patch can often find a bit of time to get some extra gold from the jungle. It's not something I would worry too much about yet, since learning how to farm jungle efficiently can be pretty hero specific, but just something to keep in mind especially for times when you feel underfarmed or just don't have much else going on.

The items in dota vs league seem to be opposite: stats of items in league matter more than the active I think, but the passive is more important than the stats. Idk how Dota is with passive items. Also good note on interacting with the jungle. That’s probably the biggest difference I’ve noticed between the games

@@studeogames I love discussing the differences between the games, so trying to reign myself in to avoid overly long comments train, but honestly bringing up passives ended up being too tempting a topic to resist. Thinking about it, I realized that most items with passive effects seem to be bought if the hero benefits a lot from both the items stats and passive, though with some exceptions. However whether the passive or the stats themselves are more important seems to vary quite a bit between items and sometimes the hero buying it. Maelstrom, for example is a farming item bought almost exclusively for the passive while Battlefury (another farming item) is bought by heroes that want the passive but also need the stats. Then you have Dragon Lance and Echo Sabre which have solid stats and passives that work only on ranged or melee heroes respectively and those are (almost) only ever picked up by heroes that get good value out of both the stats and the passive. Then you have something like Eye of Skadi where there are heroes that will buy it every game because they want the stats and heroes that will usually get it because the passive counters an enemy hero (though its well rounded stats will still benefit them). I don't actually know too well how this compares to the current state of league. A lot of the mythics seem to have some pretty strong passives (heartsteel comes to mind), but not as sure about the rest of the legendary (or whatever they were called) items.
