@@KriibusRS Pest control also provides amazing herb options (one of my herb solves) and and soul wars also provide phenomenal resource options. Now 100% of points can go into resources if you want Pest control herb sack: 9-24 herbs every 30 points. At 4x the intermediate provides a herb sack every 2 games, and at t4 relics, every single game. Alongside 1m farming ticks, it’s a great way to get herbs if you don’t want to take one of the two farming/herb relics

The mage relic t2 isn’t each hit it’s the time in between hits, so a delay between starting a boss fight will do one hit that is boosted and then reset

@@angrygun7826 we’re in the same boat! Using this leagues to learn the bosses I’m on the edge of doing, namely GWD, Muspah, Vorkath, Nex, CoX, Inferno and DKS. I have hardly any experience with them, but want more confidence so I can attempt them on my main (1850 total).

I did some test on the dps sim and once you get the t6 ranged mastery there is a 2 dps difference between full misouri and full justicar. There is so reason to not go full tank. So you'll be incredibly tanky and still slap very hard lol Forgot to mention i tested this with blowpipes and tbow

Mage will be very safe. If you have t6 mage and just blood barrage all the things, anything that you oneshot from the t6 will heal you a ton.

You have great points and made me consider taking range over melee, but then.... then i remembered with melee and chain echo hits u can get 36 hit splats in 1 hit thats gonna be disgustingly crazy!

I really don't undertand why people zhink the melee echos are stronger with more hit splats. yes, you get echos more often but they also do less damage. it's the same proportional dps increase for all melee weapons

Same reason people think slower weapons are better with the 50% rounded down attack speed (5 tick weapons benefit the most), or why people think it's unlucky to get a rune sword from Graardor - they can't math

Nice thing about blood set is that 1 tick proc, since unlike barrows you can roll full sets before getting random parts, gonna be nice to see my favorite setup go ugha dugah.

Kriibus, good sir. This might be a bit nitpicky (but this is OSRS, I think weaponized au- I mean.. being thorough.. is perfectly legal), but you forgot to mention that the maxhit increase for Ranged (T2 combat mastery) could also raise your minimum hit, it's pretty likely (since this starts becoming a factor when you can max a above 30 with the boost, after rounding down, probably not super hard to get in Leagues) that the minimum DPS players deal will be a bit affected by those extra maxhits too. Although not always if you don't have a maxhit that's high enough to raise the minimum hit (at that moment in your '4 attack cycle', anyway), when hitting less than 30% of your maxhit giving +1 there on the 'minimum hit'.

Mage is pretty pimp as is in leagues. I'm likely doing 1-3 in mele, then slowly do the next 3 in range, 1 in magic, then final 3 in range

I would be careful because to unlock your last passive you have to defeat the inferno - so you may not get 6 range if you can't do inferno if you leave it until last.

@memermcmemeson8809 that's true! And I've thought of this, it's a bit of a double edged sword. I've never killed Sol or Zuk, I just figured realistically it'll be a challenge. It might be more worth it to just do 3 tiers mele, and then max out range, and use that to help with Zuk.

Melee seems kinda weak actually if all the gear/weapons weren't so strong. The math I was seeing had t6 melee only being 5-6% dps increase while range is anywhere from like 50-300% dps increase depeding on the bosses' range def. Magic is harder to calculate but definitely better than 6% on mobs and 5-10% on bosses with it probably stacking with shadow % increases.

Why would you be "region locked" for necessary upgrades if you picked mage as your main style? Kandarin and morytania specifically makes no sense, fremenik gives you a better amulet than occult and zulrah drops a toxic trident now. Morytania isn't even a great region for magic.

You can solo nylos with T6 ranged mastery alone. Can just use chins if you go T1 Animal Wrangler. Isle of souls has normal chin hunting spot which should get the job done.

So for first time Inferno runners, 5 points into something other than melee is pretty important? I wanted to do a melee build but also want to clear inferno so might just do 5 mage 4 melee

I think you can realistically do inferno with 5 melee 4 ranged (then put the final point into melee for 6/4/0) but it might take you a few attempts. You get so much healing and tankiness from the passive effects and it should carry you through the waves with protect from magic on and the 4 ranged is also good against zuk because you're gonna take chip damage as a first timer which causes majority of jad hands and failures.

However, if you want to play it safe, you can pick Grimoire relic which gives ancients without needing desert and if you put 1 point into magic combat mastery, that should be enough

Only Echo Sol as that’s Grandmaster tier, the main hurdle with Inferno is the time spent getting to boss

Never miss means you have 100% accuracy, you will always hit everything that is not straight up immune to ranged. And something that is praying ranged will still take 60% of the normal damage because of the tier 6 Combat Mastery passive
