Does leak and slaves of freedom have the same singer? Seems one sounds like layne staley or sully and the other sounds like dax mixed with Phil anselmo. I just got this stuff on a playlists been listing for days. The mighty nimbus is alot like them as well.

Sully was shitting green when these guys were tearing it up. I knew Ryan and Carlie personally, never heard shit about them liking much less being influenced by Layne. Ryan was into blues slide and old blues.

I was in leak from the beginning till the end . It was definitely a part of my life i look back on and say it was pretty fun and adventurous being in a band with those guy . Each of them very unique and talented without even realizing it. The indulgence of whatever drug that could be ingested and drank more alcohol than a pub has in it on Saint Patrick's Day played a big part in the music and writing style we had . It didn't matter what it was along as it wasn't crack cocaine. 😂 Makes no sense but whatever. Times were different then and musicians we were influenced by were endless and very diverse in genre . Yes we loved eye hate god and crowbar also soilent green and goat whore ,acid bath, agents of Oblivion and choke and abuse , Severed Mass . The list goes on when it came to the local music we were listening to and people we hung out with but there was a endless list of musicians also from Cream to howling wolf ,buddy guy ,Queen, sonic youth , graveyard rodeo , Black Sabbath, cheap trick and the list goes on and on and on. So with all that information you can form a mental picture of the type of individuals who played in leak and the differences between each member . It was a wild time and a lot of fun with real life moments and decisions that were irreversible at the end of recording the tracks your hearing on KZbin. This was really good to see and hear and also every one in this band went on ro doing other projects and are playing in other bands today. So it was definitely a good band no matter what is said about it.

Leak, snaggletooth, acid bath, crowbar, and abuse. All great bands I have picked up in the past few years. Believe it or not I found al these guys through listening to helmet. Well sludge and grunge are sister genres. Melvins created both. Grunge went in a more punk classic rock direction and sludge went into a more extreme direction . Alice in chains kind of sits in the middle between grunge and sludge metal. Nirvana bleach also could pass for sludge since they ripped melvins off on that album.
