DUT: HTC CL 2054 Leakage current Clamp Tester. Purpose of video: Calibration of mA range. Verdict: Readings are within tolerance limits. Hence Recommended. Uses: Leakage current testers are commonly used for measuring leakage currents (differential) which are present in mA range in any electrical circuit or equipment, which cannot be sensed by normal clamp meters. At higher ranges say 1 amps and above the leakage tester can be used as normal clamp meter. Usage method for measuring leakage current: Clamp all current carrying and neutral conductor (if present) together between the jaws or only the earth wire of the circuit. Precautions: 1) The wires should be approximately at the centre of the jaws. 2) The jaws should be closed firmly without any gap. 3) Wear gloves for safety. Causes of Leakage current: Insulation failure, capacitance, filters, improper earthing, are some of the common reasons. Effects of leakage current: 1) Can cause nuisance tripping of RCCB's. 2) Fire. 3) Electrocution during monsoon. Audio Correction @ 6:39 = RCCB and not MCB
