I just traded my 2016 Colorado crew cab with 6’ bed on a 2023 Silverado lt double cab with the 6’6” bed and 2.7. I would probably have bought another Colorado but the short bed was a deal breaker.

Wow! The 11 inch for all trucks.... I actually wrote a letter to GM complaining about that. Now I am ticks me off because I have a 23 AT4 Canyon with the 8 inch. And yes the cost difference if any would have been easily made up due to simplification of manufacturing process. Thanks for the update.

That really is an annoying fact about this truck…why even have the rear slider if it’s not electric? I can’t reach it while sitting in the driver’s seat…and I love the ventilation it offers when open. That bothers me even more than the 8 inch screen

What I want to see changed is being able to fold down the back seats. That is a deal killer for many. I am in the market but now am waiting to checkout the Ranger and Taco because the seats don't fold down on the Colorado.

I picked up my 2023 Colorado Trail boss two weeks ago and I love it! I’m glad I have the 391ft-lb of torque I do a lot of trail riding and Holly oaks ORV park in Michigan Lots of power 👍🏻

I think it was right here on Tim's channel in an interview with a Chevy engineer they showed the 2.7 makes alllllmost as much torque as the 8.1L big block V8 from the early 2000s

I have that motor in my Canyon, it is not the fastest but the torque is amazing. I did a short 20 mile tow of a 7.3k lbs travel trailer. The power was great…the swaying was not. There was a bunch of wind, bouncy road and no sway control. But the power is impressive for the size of truck. I think it is a good match for the Canyon/Colorado lineup.

Unfortunately, it sounds like a riding lawn mower under load at higher rpm. Around town, it reminded me of how my sister’s 1978 Datsun B210 sounded back in the day. (Check various TFL videos for examples) Numbers are great…mpg OK. Nothing like V8 sound!

@@tomh9470 What kind of riding lawn mower have you been driving? A souped up turbo charged beast that cuts down small trees? Ok, just joking. I have driven and worked on a few riding mowers and I can tell you the sound is not quite the same...but the sound is not the best out of the 2.7. I have the Canyon Denali so I don't know if GMC put in more demanding or what not. But I hear more turbo whine than the 4 banger signature sound. I do love the V8 sound (I had a Tundra with the 5.7L before the Canyon). However, I would rather tow with the 2.7Turbo vs the 5.7L in the mountains. Pulling hills with the 5.7L at 4.5 grand on the tack is not fun to listen to. I live in the rockies and steep hills are far too common. I had the F-150 with the 3.5L and that thing was a beast in the mountains but maintenance was killing me once I hit 100k miles.

I think they should put the electronic rear locker on the trail boss and AT4 on the Colorado, Canyon, Silverado and Sierra. This would better compete with Tacoma and Tundra TRD OR.

Going to all digital gauges makes sense across the board. Sorry converting a digital output from CPU to an analog gauge is silly and expensive in 2023. I can remember all the hubris about having a computer managing the engine! Wow we got through that OK!

One of the engineers was talking about the testing and validation for switches and something as subtle as changing the paint on a switch would require a complete re-test; thus, one of the reasons why GM re-used their switch assemblies.

Until they do something about the fuel economy I'm hanging on to my 2019 Diesel 4x4 Colorado. If I buy something new at this point it'll be a Silverado custom trail boss diesel. Similar price to the AT4X Canyon with 10 MPG better fuel economy. and far more capability.

Seems like gm and ford put too much investment in electric at the expense of investment in their current offerings. Toyota and Nissan offer more cab and bed configurations for a reason yet ford and chevy say you can only have this. I for one will not buy into their limited offerings

Toyota is a leader in this technology- just a plane simple fact! Your feelings don't matter; an electric motor has a torque curve no diesel will ever touch. I'm not a big fan of turbos and electric cars but if your going to have one it better be a Toyota.

Agreed, that small dash screen with black area was terrible. Glad they fixed that for all trims. Are you aware GM raised their destination delivery fee another 100 bucks? It is now $1995. (for silverado) Crazy money. No way it costs that much to send multiple vehicles to an area via train or truck. Greed is alive and well in the GM camp. I have not looked at the delivery fee for Toyota, Ford and Ram. Maybe this subject can be a talking point on 1 of your live shows on youtube

Manufacturers see it as hidden profit. It does irk me too. I prefer new to used vehicles, but those "BS" cost like that and subscriptions really have me thinking let the first owner absorb that.
