Not too far off base. I saw the original Star Wars opening when I was 18. I have loved the original trilogy, accepted the prequels (grudgingly) all my life. I tried to watch the Force Awakens but just cant seem to finish it. I watched 10 minutes of the Last Jedi and left, never to return. I guess they have a new demographic because Disney KILLED Star Wars for me.

The entire Fate of the Jedi storyline where it turns out that there was a planet full of Sith Lords that NOBODY SENSED FOR A THOUSAND YEARS. Seriously, how the fuck did Vader and Palpatine not sense this? Isn't it their job to make sure there is only two Sith Lords? In fact, it makes the entire Anakin Skywalker redemption pointless if it turned out that the Sith were completely fine. Oh how about the storyline about the Vong where they are completly immune to the Force despite the fact that one of the basic things about the world of Star Wars is that "The Force surrounds us, binds us, penetrates us"? Or how about the comic line where the R5-D4 droid turned out to be sensitive to the Force and was given a vision about him blowing up that would help save the galaxy? Because an obvious joke needed some kind of force explanation, right? The Extended Universe was awful in many ways and I'm glad most of it was wiped out.

1. When the fuck did that happen in The Last Jedi? The only time I can think of that happening is with Chewie and the Falcon on Kryat. One time doesn't equate to many. 2. Didn't they point out that the force picked someone of to be the balance of Kylo Ren? I recall Snoke saying that. 3. Didn't you pay attention to The Force Awakens? Or did you forget that the entire New Republic got blown up? 4. Kind of does when you BLOW UP 4-5 PLANETS. You are saying that like it's not a big deal. Just listen to yourself. 5. It's a cargo ship dude. It's pretty obvious that the Falcon can fit that many people. 6. Snoke was just as "fleshed out" as The Emperor back in the Original Trilogy. It wasn't until the Prequels we got more information about him. Snoke was just another Emperor which this time Kylo Ren kills off in order to usurp him and become the leader of the First Order. A better villain mind you. 7. Didn't he say he sensed no conflict in Ben? That he also had a moment of weakness and instinct? You know, actually humanizing him? If you want Luke Skywalker "The Diety Gary Stu" go back to the fanfiction that was the Extended Universe Sounds to me you just wanted Empire Strikes Back: The Reboot instead of an actual movie. Which is quite sad really.

So apparently the magical space wizard power isn't allowed to use it's magical powers to find someone and pick them? Isn't that what makes the Force, well, the Force? Oh wait, it's the OT trilogy we can't criticize that, now can we? Nostalgia dictates such! 6. No he didn't. He wasn't fleshed out, he just sat by and kept telling Luke to give into his anger. Hell, his first appearance was in ESB and he was just a hologram. We knew nothing about him other than "Evil Space Wizard that took over the Galaxy". Hell we didn't even know his name. Stop associating his work in the Prequels with the OT trilogy. 7. It shows that he had a moment of weakness and reacted on instinct. That is humanizing him smart one. It was a good way to show how both Kylo Ren and Luke saw that storyline. The fact that you said Rogue One was good just shows how badly you like the nostalgic branding of Star Wars and not the actual product. Again, go watch the movie again and see how much of it relies on the brand of star wars instead of the story itself. The Last Jedi is what is needed in the movies to get away from the shit that was the Prequels and the nostalgia fire that is "EMPRIE STRIKES BACK: THE REBOOT"!!!!

Mate397 Yeah, it was Rian Johnson. That is not an issue I had with the film, I've more had a problem with how this Sequel Trilogy handled our beloved original characters and the story arc of it. It really is just an 'alternate universe' version of The Original Trilogy, they painstakingly replicate everything in the setting to only to do different things. (i.e., Oh Darth Vader never killed his Master like that! New! Oh a depressed Jedi Master who abandoned the Galaxy and all he loved to die, not like Obi-Wan or Yoda who did so for a greater reason or cause! New! Meanwhile the New Republic is forcefully destroyed to reset things politically to big empire vs. little rebels, there's still no New Jedi Order, story arc replication in Force Awakens, etc.) It's just such a waste of possibilities.

originally it was called "expanded universe" basically it was anything that wasn't the original trilogy or the prequel trilogy. all the novels, games, comic books and tv shows, it expanded the lore and actually created a nice universe. then disney happened and they scrapped all of that calling it "star wars legends" and making it non canon. lately some things have started coming back to canon thanks to star wars rebels (the most noticable is grand admiral thrawn) so people HOPE legends will be back in canon but we all know it's not going to happen.
