Been away for a while, so it was a real treat to return to such an amazingly soothing day. Best parts, though, are when the two of you have a good laugh together!

@@WidebeamandWellingtons No traveling lately, except to doctors and surgical centers for (gad) 6 months now. Absolutely on track (positive news first) for a complete recovery after hospitalization at Christmas for (apparently life-threatening) anemia which eventually resulted in a couple of recent surgeries to resolve the underlying causes (which will require months more of recovery here in Dallas). However, I'm also feeling and doing better than I have in a decade (literally)! And such seasons in Texas to add to my "travel" diary: heavy freezes, tornadoes, hail storms, and now record heat waves. Help from family hereabouts cannot be adequately described, and now my decreasing depression allows me to follow friends such as yourself and on Twitter and Instagram again (which will be even more uplifting!). Best to you both!

As a narrowboat dweller for many years I can’t imagine the stress of having to navigate a much larger vessel, fair play to you both 💕🦆

Enjoy the novelty - and relax! The advantage of a 4 mph cruise means you don't have to know what/where/when so far in advance.

Hey guys. Was good to briefly meet you at Crick and sorry for startling you Richard when i said hello! Was curious if you have to always lower your stern canopy on the eastern K&A. Your boat is so beautifully clean on its roof your view is pretty uncluttered so i was wondering if you have time to lower the canopy as you approach lower bridges. Is there a guide with the bridge heights/air draughts and would that be any use or is that the height at the peak of the bridge.

Hi 👋 no worries Richard says was nice to meet you! It’s more of a safety thing with the canopy on the K&A there are quite a few low bridges but also a lot of low overgrown trees, it’s easy enough to drop, so we just leave it down whilst cruising, think you can find out heights etc from CRT 😁

There are a few bridges that will rip the pram cover to shreds depending on the water level, and a couple that would be impossible to get under without it down too. There’s a lock bridge at Caen Hill that has a lovely sharp bolt protruding from it that is also the perfect height to catch the canvas and rip it open left to right, my own cover has been under my bed since November due to that bolt…

I noticed that you only have 2 solar panels on y our roof. Does that provide enough power or do you think you need more?
@WidebeamandWellingtons Жыл бұрын
We do! It is enough for what we do at the moment but we will be adding more and some more decent batteries in the future 😁
