I have yet to find a better cardboard destroyer than a Wharncliffe Endura in K390.

Thin bass wood strips with Gunny Juice 1 & 0.5 micron is what I use. Very effective, and can be loaded into my TSPROF kadet. Manages to bring back an edge for an extended period of time.

Another great set-up you have there. When I first started out with my KME - I got to be strop-crazy; trying everything from my belt to cardboard with toothpaste. It was actually quite interesting...

I don’t know if it’s the video being slowed down but it looked like you are putting wayyyy too much pressure when your stropping. Probably why you have better results with balsa. On the leather strops try as little pressure as possible and you should be in much better shape

solld !! I generally I dont like FRN handles, but this blade grind and seeing your IG post convinced me to buy one.. cant wait for it to come in ! Hopefully I can find some aftermarket titanium scales =)

Hell yeah thats whats up! Im actually carrying mine today! Awesome knife 100%!! And the frn scales feel a hell of alot better than youd think. Grippy and very solid but if I was to get scales for mine, id definitely go with carbon fiber. There’s a company called Votix I think 🤔 but they make them as well as Aramis!

Have you noticed if your Seki K390 has a different patina than the PM2 K390?

Yes I have! I noticed within the first week that the Seki City K390 is more prone to corrosion and definitely needs to be maintained if you don’t want rust or a patina! If you don’t mind a patina id recommend going the forced patina route and that will protect the blade!

Its the result of 1000s of hours sharpening knives constantly striving to improve and never being satisfied. Basically insanity haha. But I have a sharpening playlist with tips videos and tutorials going over everything I know of that could possibly help you. Aside from that its just practice and dedication brother!

I want the Delica and Endo both in k390 I can’t decide if I should get the Warrencliffe or the regular blade shape What do you think?

I have both and kinda like the leaf better. Its more versatile. Definitely get a endura or endela though, delica is too small!

@Aa-ron22 both are great but the leaf blade is more versatile. Endela is perfect for edc, Endura gives you extra leverage and cutting edge for major cutting tasks.

Does it matter what compound i use just to strop up a knife thats still reasonably sharp but not quite passing the paper test(dragging in areas but still slicing for most part)

Depends on the blade steel, heat treat, hardness, how much refining is needed and your abilities. Gunny Juice gives the maximum capabilities in my experience. If Gunny juice doesn’t do it then you need to go back to the stones. I talked about it my progression at the end of the video!
