I made one for Spanish a year and a half into studying it I was going to make one for Korean, but couldn’t think of a nice enough channel name, so I just used this main channel account It sounds all good, but you have to be careful because good ol’ YT WILL recommend you non-target language stuff and if your will power is low, well you’re going to destroy your feed. Happened to my Spanish account after a month. I can only click “do not recommend” so many times… Best bet is to just sub to channels and stay in your subs feed. And have strong will power if you venture into the main feed

I personally use ChatGPT to create stories in my target languages. If I'm a beginner or I want to learn about a specific topic/vocabulary, I can say something like "give me a story in korean with basic vocabulary related to cooking and food. Make it funny and short." and boom, you get to practice your korean for free. Of course, there are many other possibilities and you can play around.

Great tips as always Lindie!! Also on top of online tutors it's possible to take full online classes while staying home. I have taken 1,000 hours of Korean classes 🇰🇷 from total beginner to advanced of which the majority were online and therefore accessible to people who do not live in Korea or big cities where in person classes are available. It can be cheaper and more social than one-on-one and I have made close friends from the courses. We are so lucky these days to have tech helping us! ^^

I have fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue. I had been having a pretty good few months, and sometimes I convince myself that I don't have it as bad, or I've conquered it... and then a bad flare up happens. I've been laid up for a week, because I walked slightly too much. So, I've been binge watching shows in Chinese. It's helped me feel like I'm not too far behind. I've been using Gemini a lot to make comprehensible input and read stories that are relatively easy for me with a couple new words. Focus is on fun while I'm in too much pain to do the harder stuff. Luckily, my flare ups have been relatively gentle most of the last year since I've started studying Chinese. The great thing about languages is you can lay down to study them on your own. I'm not usually a fan of podcasts, btu because this flare up has been so brutal, I started listening to them. This video was great timing for me to see someone going through something similar. Thank you!

Bravo Lindie! I love English or American for its funkyness and breaking the ice conversation when possible but it is very limited to express deep feelings and emotions plus is not always a diplomatic card according where you are in the world. BUT HERE ARE THE NEWS this month of May 2024: I decided to CONTINUE ITALIAN (your video here is part of it but I have seen three others underlining how fascinating it can be). I ADORE because of its melodic singing tones, hand gestures, opera, and antiquity! And the food! Thank you so much for having been a HUGE inspiration for me to reconnect correctly to language power! And THIS time, I am going to enjoy Italian also, as much, for its phonetic pleasure and new thinking! Also...still... it is the 4th most studied language in the world and even Italians are shocked about this.

I love this! I have different levels of fluency in diff languages & challenge myself to hear from God’s people in/from nations I want to serve For example, I’m more fluent in Spanish so I read the verse of the day, pray, worship, Bible study & text Christian friends in Mexico in Spanish But for languages I’m a beginner in, I’ll listen to worship music passive/actively, find mission vlogs to learn the culture, & memorize the Lord’s Prayer or a popular verse in that language. if I have access to native speakers, I try to attend a service or ask them to pray for me in that language 💖✨ God bless you!

Hey Lindie, just wanted to leave you a resource here in case you have not heard of it since I know you read the Bible in Japanese (and in case other people are interested): A few years ago, a company made a Japanese Drama Bible app called 2017 version of the Bible with voice over from a lot of famous Japanese voice actors. The text has furigana and everything and it's much easier to read than a compact Japanese Bible. It's available on apple and android devices for free. The VA for Paul makes me laugh every time he says 兄弟たち xD
