I have watched a lot of videos (looking for videos that aren't annoying), and you are THE ONLY ONE to mention that scales follow a pattern! It's so helpful to know that! Hello, all scale practicers! Someone asked: "When doing all 12 major scales in chromatic order, E Major and F Major both end on the thumb. How do you go from E major to F major fingering wise so you keep the speed... without doubling the thumb which makes it sound choppy?" I thought that was a very relevant question, (and a fun right-hand exercise challenge for all scale practicers to do! :) So here's my answer: When playing the last descending octave (if you play many octaves) with the right hand in E major, you would normally play the last 4 notes (A G# F# E) with fingers 1-3-2-1. Change this to 1-4-3-2 and then slide under with your 1st finger on F and continue! :) The same "problem" occurs from B major to C major, so use the same "trick" as above! Happy Practicing! :)

Good content madam. I have a question though. How many hours do I need to practice scales everyday in order to play at a speed of 160BPM and how long will it take
@OnlinePianoCoach2 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Please don't spend hours practicing scales! 😲A good rule of thumb is about 20% of your practice time could be spent on technical exercises like scales, chords, and arpeggios, and 80% spent on learning repertoire. Fast playing you should build up gradually. Practice with a metronome very slowly, then gradually increase the speed as you feel confident. Nobody can answer how long it will take! It's like the question, "how long is a piece of string?" As long as it takes...😎

please explain how a song played in c major versus d or f or a scales sounds differenty ???
@OnlinePianoCoach2 жыл бұрын
Any major scale sounds the "same", it doesn't matter what note you start from. It just sounds "higher" or "lower" (pitch). (Interestingly, though, some may disagree 😉 since some people claim they "see" colors when they hear different scales!🌈) But, any scale pattern (major or minor) sounds the same no matter what the starting note is since the specific pattern of tones and semitones is the same!
@tentrade22 жыл бұрын
Other than " pitch " don't you think they are different when the keys in the chord are vastly different? Why Chopin, Beethoven chose different scales for different pieces? All classical are named by the scales....pure music 🙏🙏
