Hi Nora ... you give such a nice invitation to learn Arabic and I did join Arabicpod101 many months ago but I didnt benefit from it very much because the material is not basic enough for me. Too much focus on phrases which I contend is not the best way to learn a language so one could read books and enjoy them. I would like to read books, listen to the radio, songs, watch films. But I have tried hard to find a teacher who will accept my approach. I speak many languages and I didnt have a teacher, I just asked questions about simple words and phrases so that I could internalise the expressions, sounds etc. I think the problem is that teachers dont have time to explain ... book, a book, the book, a green book, the green book. I believe they get stuck with the English, not Arabic. I have gone to college since Jan 2018, have corresponded with internet teachers and still cant get answers to the most basic of two word sentences. I am writing this because I have nothing to lose and who knows if by some miracle some one might just be able to help me. thanks for reading this. Paul b UK

Wow. Even for simple phrases the vocab is different for each "dialect". At this point isnt it really a different language?

الطريقة المستعملة في القناة سيئة...وهي أنكم تظهرون الكلمات بأكثر من لهجة لناس مبتدئين...فلازم تعلموهم فصحى وإذا أتقنوا الفصحى بعدين تعلمها اللهجات العربية

Vano Kikolashvili you need the signals that are called الحركات to know how the word is spelled so you can know if it is the verb "to carry" or whatever else .. or you can just relate it to the meaning of the sentence it is in ..and thats what arabs do to read texts without signals. The best thing is that you cant mistake the meanings because they are so different than eachother so like for the word حمل its whether the verb to carry or the word pregnancy or the animal حمل
