Very good work. This is a tough, tough head no matter how big your ego !! .... listen and you hear Charlie works hard at it. What you have done is quite amazing as a learning device. Months of study here. Many thanks.

Great stuff man! You play that melody slowly but very precisely which is a huge help! Charlie burns on so much of that it can be hard to hear even with a slow downer. Also that guitar! ❤ To own a Benedetto one day is the dream.

@@NathanBortonMusic I'd be interested in a video on how you think about There Will Never Be Another You. Particularly the last 4 bars in its most basic form and then the common substitutions people use. And any Barry Harris ideas applied to standards are always appreciated. I'm pretty sure that is how the algorithm sent me to your videos. Thanks again Nathan.

Great job! Enjoying these videos so much on Charlie Parker and bebop melodies. Would love to see a video on breaking down the rhythmic approaches (i.e. breaking up continuous 8th note lines, etc.).

I must admit I generally prefer the pre-bop sounds and players (old fashioned tastes I know) but man there are some great lines in this piece. Love the first minor 251. Maybe I need to broaden my tastes a little! No doubt Parker was influenced by the players who came before him anyway. Thanks for another great breakdown Nathan.

Seems you are only showing the notes and saying interval relationships. I was expecting to see: what is the most important note on each phrase or bar. what is the most important beat you should focus on in the entire bar (or melody). where the melody starts, where does it end and what is important and should keep in the back of your mind when playing. you also dont explain how some parts of the melody are actually just variations of the original melody. It was a very enjoyable video either way. Very good pacing and editing. Congratulations.
