Great!!! Never heard about that before. Started in age of 66 with Ukulele and glad to see you what can be done with clawhammer. Usually I played Accordion for tourists in Germany but also tried to learn other instruments, which are totally different. Thanks for great teachings!!!

Very nice lesson. Excellent instruction in the clawhammer technique. However, You made a mistake when in the intro you said that clawhammer was an important part of bluegrass. Traditional Bluegrass frowns on the use of clawhammer employing instead the three finger Scruggs style of banjo playing. Further in the lesson you were correct when you said that it is an element of old time music. Thank you for putting this lesson together.

Very useful video. The banjolele at rhe video, is a concert one? Is the concert size the best to practice clawhammer?thanks!

Yes, it is a concert. It's a custom one made by David Prat: pratinstruments.com/ Chris recommends these as an entry-level model: amzn.to/2U9gpWP He said either concert or tenor is good for clawhammer.

Great lesson. Is it normal for my fingers and wrist be sore?
@RockClass1014 жыл бұрын
Fingers, yes. But wrist, no. Most likely, I'd guess you have a form issue - like playing with a protruding wrist. A similar question was just asked on our forum the other day: rockclass101.com/forums/topic/thumb-picking-position-question/. Check out my response and this lesson on playing w/ proper right hand form: rockclass101.com/proper-right-hand-ukulele-form/
