About the Finnish language: I try my best to recognise words either in writing or by your pronunciation, but I can't. I don't see or hear anything I can recognize from other languages except "englantia". That's my Finnish word for today.

I read somewhere that Finnish doesn't have a future verb tense. Is that true? If so, how do you indicate things that happen in the future?

Yes that is true, but english doesn’t have future verb tense either. It’s practically the same in finnish. (I will eat)

We have an unofficial future tense borrowed from Swedish: minä tulen tekemään, jag kommer at göra, I am going to do. (Literally "I am coming to do") That is used in spoken Finnish when we want to emphasize the thing happening in the future, but not specify when. In correct Finnish, we use present tense, and say when. For example: minä teen huomenna, jag ska göra i morgon, I will do tomorrow. (Or literally "I do tomorrow")

This is gonna sound so ignorant but Finnish sounds like a mix of Native American + Japanese.

Nah, Japanese and Finnish sound very similar. We even have some same words, though they mean different things. (Aho = idiot in Japanese, meadow in Finnish, commonly a last name. For example, Sebastian Aho is a hockey player. Minna = everyone in Japanese, in Finnish, it's a woman's first name. Isi = rock in Japanese, daddy in Finnish. And so on...) Finnish is more monotone though. As for native American... I don't think that's a language. But Nanook is Inuit for polar bear, I read somewhere in these comments. (It isn't Finnish. Both these kids have non-Finnish first names.)

A Kind of Adventurous Life I’ve been to Helsinki before and while they didn’t like to small talk, some of them liked to trash talk me and my cousins. My cousin and I took her little brother to the little kiddie play area in the hotel (they are from England) and we were playing with him and some Finnish couple were looking at us saying “stupid Americans and Britts. Shut up you loud annoying foreigners.” They really thought I didn’t know what they were saying so I broke out my Finnish and told them what’s good. Lets just say they never spoke like that about us again. 🤠
