I'm self-studying German and it helps me a lot! I started with "Hurra Kinderlieder" channel, and the algorythm led me to this kanal! Der Erlkonig is one of my favorite lied and I listen to lied of Schubert, Beethoven, und Mozart very often. I learned this song when I was a middle school student, back in 2002 and until now, I cannot forget the rythm and melody of it. For Korean like me, German is yes, it is a difficult language to learn, aber es ist interassant. When I visited Germany in 2018, I spoke English to communicate and I hope someday I can travel Germany without speaking English. Vielen dank fur gute kanal!

A brilliant way to learn German. Know this from Schubert. Lady has lovely voice. Oskar Werner recited this brilliantly but then he was brilliant, still is with me. Thank you for this. Vielen danke.🙏❤️

The Erlkönig is absolutely not about the power of nature. It is about a father‘s sick child that has visions due to its illness. Listen to this recording: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4vKeJSsiNiAiNk

The poem never made sence, but in the light of the Freemasonry it suddenly makes a lot of sence. Makes me wonder what horror Goethe must have seen there. "I love you, your beautiful form excites me; And if you're not willing, then I will use force." My father, my father, he's touching me now! The Erl-King has done me harm! Goethe has sworn secracy at the Freemasonry... this was maybe his way to express what he has seen.

This is also a lied, a very powerful one, by Schubert. The piano accompaniment, which represents the pounding of the horse's hoofs, greatly enhances the underlying tension and fear.

Hello German poetry buffs ! Do you know an old poem, possibly a folk-story, about a woodsman who finds a Hare outside in the snow, and brings him into the hut to be warm, then a Fox, then a Wolf, then a bear ?. And the animals can all talk ?. Would you ask your grandparents for me if they know the name and the source of the poem?. I would be so grateful.
