Wow. Super cool for a beginner with the same classic cheap chinese tuning. Learned just enough piano for this to make sense, and more than enough drums and percussion for me to remember how it feels to lose yourself in a new instrument(!) Thanks so much. Wish I was five decades younger dammit. 😉 Everyone: don't worry about quality, just get cheap, you can get expensive or 'better' tuning once you've had enough practice to know this is for you. We don't learn piano on a Steinway, or drums on Ludwig etc. The best instrument is AN instrument. Even home made. Just go for it, lose yourself.

Honestly, the D Kurd scale is more advanced than some other scales. If you learn the chord changes, then you can do marvelous things with it, however if you are an absolute beginner you might want to go with something more simple like a celtic minor or pentatonic scale.
