This is my favorite skit! No matter how many times I watch it, I always laugh when they drop the eggs, and then finally decide to buy a cake... It's ok, that cake wasn't going to be very good anyway - eggs and butter should get mixed with the sugar separately from the flour and other dry ingredients before combining the wet and dry portions together. They probably would have ended up with a brick. Thanks so much for the fun education ❤️

Why do you say “Echad” instead of “Achat” for “1” on 1:49 (when dialing a phone number)? Shouldn’t the feminine be used (or am I hearing it wrong)? Thanks!
@AnhTran-oz5oq3 жыл бұрын
It should be feminine form (achat), I think he got a mistake because I asked my husband (he's Israeli)

Hi! I would like to ask you something. I've heard people pronouncing the numbers 4 and 8 in two different ways: árba and arbá, shmóne and shmoné. The accent falls on different syllables. Are both correct? Does the accent depend on the a dialect or where one comes from?

Daniel - when you read the telephone number you use the masculine form for number 1. Is there a reason for this? Thanks.

שלום, דניאל I was just wondering on why שתי ביצים is correct and not שני ביצים since eggs appear to be a masculine noun. Are eggs somewhat of an exception and if yes, are there more like it? להיתראות ויום טוב
@DanielGanorLearnHebrew6 жыл бұрын
ביצה is feminine in Hebrew. The suffix הa is common in Hebrew for feminine. When forming the plural for feminine, we usually use the suffix ות but in this case, we use the masculine suffix ים. This is an exception but it happens with few other feminine nouns as well.

תודה רבה, דניאל! 💙 I hear people say גבר and I looked for what it means so it means man also... What is the difference between איש & גבר? And what is the feminine of גבר? 😃
@DanielGanorLearnHebrew6 жыл бұрын
תודה רבה לך! They are homonyms in a sense, although גבר emphasises the masculinity of the man. The feminine of גבר is also אישה. The plural גברים is only male, while the plural אנשים can be general - for male and female. איש also means person and can be used to talk in general about a person.
