This is what I did because I am a barefoot person. In the woods and at home, barefoot is what I am. In creeks and rivers, trails And the beach. It really does make such a huge difference. It saved me. I even regained my monkey feet and can still pick things up with my left foot again. 😄 Thank you for these videos.

Yes, this is fabulous advice. Grounding and earthing feels amazing for the entire body. I felt amazing doing this for recovery but have recently had a setback due to an unexpected fall (not barefoot). I can't wait to be able to feel the earth under my feet again. Linda's story has been very inspiring and powerful.

Great recommendation to go barefooted. Not taught in rehab often where they rely heavily on braces and the like. I rewatched the video and guess it helps with both spasticity and weakness in the ankle. Will give this work!

I was wondering that. Is it also helpful for spasticity and foot inversion?

I did the same thing when I had to use a walker. I didn't want to be attached to it for the rest of my life. I can walk now with a limp and even drive.

I did my first day today walking barefoot to heal my foot drop. It was hard a little painful because of neuropathy, but I'm ready for another day. I feel good about this. At the end of the day before bed it felt better.

@@averyt6521 hello, no I still have drop foot in my left foot. I was told it won't get better if it is over time. It's been 3 years now. And the pain is horrible.

So true this is improving me walking. I love being barefoot now I am going to do this more often. Even with the brace I would have to walk slower because I felt I couldn't lift my foot with the brace.

I just found you while searing for foot drop. If you wouldn't mind answering my question. In regards to your video about foot drop. ''Is there a difference to the therapy if the foot drop was caused by a stroke or brain injury as opposed if the foot drop was caused by a spinal cord injury (PSCI, C-3-4-5). I had a very minor foot drop prior to fusion surgery After surgery my foot drop became much worse. Some feed back from me to you. I practice walking 'seriously' from time to time. I have found listening to music (as a rhythm methadone) I can actually walk like a dancer, using my arms, hips, legs and ankles. Thank you for your videos and efforts to help. BTW, my neck fusion was 03/2002, NJ, USA

I'm a husband ( caregiver) of a stroke survivor of 4 years. We're at a point of no improvement even with therapy. My wife really wants to get rid of her AFO to the point of argument and I'm just wondering if this is just another way to offer false hope ? Seems very dangerous .

I had a stroke when I was 58 and started to read about brain bleedings and I came across Neuroplasticity. I am now 4 ½ years older. And it still works. I still make progress. Neuroplasticity is the capacity of the brain to heal itself just like you lose a part of your liver, it will grow on again. For neuroplasticity you need to move the touched part/limb, so the brain gets a signal that it what’s to reconnect. A Swiss professor made a paralyzed man walk again by moving his legs with a robot and when the connection was made he could practice for himself. Neuroplasticity works all your life. Getting your body in perfect shape helps a lot in this healing process and you have to make the right movements as if you learn walking like you were born. Like walking barefooted. Furthermore sleep, good foot etc all things mentioned here to optimize to process. Like most people having a stroke I had to change my lifestyle and get healthy again. But that is changing your daily routine. Your mindset must understand what is happening so you do the right things and that is why this site is so to the point where it is all about. Knowing this, now yourself needs to come in motion. And it will take a long time. How far you come? See “Recovery without limits” from Kari Dunning on You tube. All the best and have a good recovery.
