How to Breakdance | Beginner Windmills Part 1 | Power Move Basics
Details: This Tutorial teaches how to do one of the most common Power Moves the Windmill. Windmills do not come easy so I am going to make 2 other tutorials on how to make your windmills better. Practice hard and take your time.
Beginning Breaking: goo.gl/Fvom8a
Intermediate Breaking: goo.gl/bsQR59
Advanced Breaking: goo.gl/zTc1ya
Disclaimer: These Tutorials on Breakdancing are meant to help spread knowledge to kids and adults who otherwise wont get it, and to help preserve to culture in which we call Hip Hop. Please help keep Hip Hop Alive!
Warning: These tutorials do involve moves that take time and hard work to learn and should not be attempted until you master the basics (Toprocks, Basic Footwork & Basic Freezes). Make sure you get comfortable with the moves before moving on, and make sure you have an open space to dance in. I am not responsible for any injures, sore muscles or broken furniture while you are attempting these tutorials. Take it easy until you feel comfortable. Pro tip from a powerhead(me), clockwise windmill, you left leg will be the hardest to overcome. Your left leg is very scared because you keep thinking its gonna just hit the floor when going. You have to force the left leg to be as straight as the right when spinning. This will allow you to gain more speed and height by keeping the 2 legs as straight as possible even though they are scared to be straightened...

it took me a year to get this move, but once you get it, it stays with you. I hadn't done this since I was 18 years old and I'm 25 now. Decided to give it a go after 7 years and still had it as if I had never stopped. with that being said, still, practice consistently until you can do it consistently

Looks hard but like everything, it takes time and practice. It's muscle memory. I remember practicing kickflips and how I thought it was impossible but with practice, months and months of it, I can do them and I can do them without even thinking about it because you know, muscle memory is a beautiful thing. Just like how pro skateboarders can do all the basic tricks like tre flips, kickflips, heelflips without even thinking. Same with guy. It's natural to him now and obviously there was a point to when he was like us, couldn't do them. You guys got this. We got this!!

@Schwem i can only do one spin before losing speed but the more you practice the move the more you understand you have to move like in a single motion. You have to keep you legs straight , pivot and kicking with your hips
@hypernel1798
@hypernel1798 3 жыл бұрын
@Schwem be careful to not overdoing it because you might get shoulder-burns ( your shoulder will feel sore basically) and a trick that my friend told me to do for the windmill is stretching you legs a bit to build up your flexibility like a reverse "Y" position. Turst me you'll get ot just keep a good consistency

Thank you! I have been trying at the windmill for a couple years now and I have been at a sticking point for ages. I could get one rotation but it was always hit or miss. I think I was rolling too high on my shoulders or something and then smashing down into a stand-still in the cricket. This is the first tutorial with simple technique that actually made sense for me. I am now able to get back into the cricket so much easier and follow up with more rotations. Sloppy rotations at the moment but I am actually getting somewhere! THANK YOU!

Hey Vincanity. I have been watching your tutorials for about 5 months now and they are very useful. Right now I have mastered the backspin and trying to learn windmill. The problem is, that I swing my legs to high and it leads me to shoulder bruises and hip bruises. My question is, how do you swing your legs low for momentum without hitting your waist? Thanks for reading and I hope you reply.

What do you recommend doing to build stamina/endurance? I've gotten to where I can do about 3-4 full windmills (not in a row), but then afterwards my wrist and forearms start hurting from the constant strain. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a conditioning exercise that I can do to help improve shoulder/forearm/wrist strength? Thank you everyone!
