Learn Yan Shou Gong online from Master Yap Boh Heong. Click on the links below to enroll: YSG Sets 1-6: bit.ly/3K9w9AC YSG Sets 7-12: bit.ly/3ctj5dg Yan Shou Gong 延壽功 is an Authentic Nei Gong practice traditionally taught to only the most senior monks in the Southern Shaolin Temple. Each of the Yan Shou Gong sets condenses the best practices of the Nei Gong arts, making them: • Easy to learn. • Quick to practice. • Produce real internal skills. Many types of Nei/Qi Gong practices typically take years before a student feels any benefits from the training; Or even worse, the methods don’t produce any results. However, this is not the case with Yan Shou Gong, as the student will notice the benefits instantly, and in most instances, it can begin to deliver results within weeks. Yan Shou Gong also emphasizes the development of kinetic energy and the mind; in Chinese martial arts, these terms are referred to as Jin 勁 and Yi 意. It also teaches the practitioner how to perform techniques such as Grounding, Rooting, and Centering, creating awareness and mindfulness of being in the body. This can improve a practitioner’s martial abilities, but it can also help relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. The comprehensive instruction provided in this course is ideal for martial artists who want to study an authentic Nei Gong system/internal art. It is also suitable for those who have previously been too busy, living a stressed-out lifestyle, and now need to work on improving their health. Inner-door Students Group: As well as the comprehensive video instruction provided within the course, Master Yap has created a private group to personally guide students studying the Yan Shou Gong (Shaolin Nei Gong) course with him. Access to the group is exclusive and only available to students who enroll in this course. Students can use the group to ask questions, discuss the video lessons and share their training experiences with the other pupils. Master Yap will be on hand to answer any questions and share new video lessons with the group. Click on the link to find out more: bit.ly/3K9w9AC

There are fundamental flaws in these types of demonstrations that are fatal in terms of credibility and real world applicability. The resistance is essentially cooperation, there is no real forward pressure by the "attacker" and -0- resistance to the counter move. On contact, significant perturbance in balance ensues, structures warp to some degree in response to encountered force angles, and the distance of separation tends to collapse which often times results in body on body clashing. It's an interesting display of a model outside the real world environment. Basically, these demonstrations are of no value beyond being a starting point, and even that is argumentative.

I completely agree. Any internal level of development must be (initally at least) physically experienced and transmitted. If not, you don't have a point of reference which is needed to start development.

Its a really bizarre sensation as its the back hand wiping the forearm that creates the extra bit of power. But I agree if it must be felt to be recreated

@Gary Rutter That's interesting to know! If you feel aiki techniques from a japanese internal art known as daito ryu, you feel as though you are stuck to the person doing the techniques, then someting sems to flow into your body and moves you from inside your body, You're aware of something moving you but you have no power to stop it. Other times aiki can feel like an explosion going off deep inside your body or like a huge weight crushing you from inside. There's no external movement though.

An amazing part of this video for me is as I’m enjoying his gentle demeanor and demonstrations a friendly calm he tells his assistant “now through a punch.” I was totally not expecting the teach could move that fast. Great video, very informative.

I think this is very real, and admire this master for his skill, humility, gentle manner and light-hearted nature. I understand the master can apply these moves quickly. But do his students spar with one another to learn how these moves can be applied quickly in self defense?

The punch that's thrown in this video is a 'demonstration/training' type punch. 2 differences from a real one is that it finishes out of range and at zero velocity. Real punches don't decelerate from the midway point and come to a standstill at full distance. They maintain their velocity and may even accelerate all the way to the target. If you slow down this video, you'll see that Master Yap Boh's defensive technique doesn't make contact until pretty much completion (elbow lockout) of the punch. Therefore, if it had been within range and not decelerated it would have hit him. And this is with a 'pure' attack i.e. no attempt to deceive with rhythm, feints, trajectory etc. He was therefore able to make a specific, committed defensive move as soon an attack begins. There's some interesting mechanics going on here. But you'd get knocked out most of the time trying to apply it against a competent full contact puncher if you attempted it.
@karimsonsafehold92332 жыл бұрын
Only people with battle experience realizes that it is a lot more subtle. The movement is adapted to the incoming force. When someone is reaching for a grapple, their hand will decelerate. Then the move is also arm based and not deflected as much. For a true one strike one kill, the entire body turns and evades instead of standing and waiting. That is the worst case scenario. Only those with a combat eye can see.

Then someone like me comes along and proved you wrong. A punch is only good on one vector. If you cut the line on a second it is immediately displaced and loses velocity. You add a 3rd vector such as rotating and it's even more. This happens in a 10th of a second. You see this in pro fights many times but it's in passing and not isolated so it's over looked. If you aren't experienced enough to know you can cut a jab with an other jab you shouldn't be talking
