Great Video. I've hit a problem that you may be able to help with. I've embedded 4 youtube videos into my interactive brochure and used your pop-video tutorial to showcase them when the each play button is clicked. My problem is that after the closed button is clicked and the pop-ups disengage, when I try to click a different button on my home page, the youtube navigations are still engaged from the previously closed pop-up video (i.e I'll try to click the home button and the previously closed video will start to play or skip the video ahead 10 seconds etc...) is there anyway around this problem? When I click the close button, I want all the youtube controls to be completely disengaged until the video play button is clicked again. I know I could do this with an embedded video file but I can't figure out how to do it with a embedded video link.

Hello Mr Angelo It nice to see the interactive pop-up video, the same functions can be carry in the pdf file along with video if not what is the best way to incorporate video in pdf alone could you explain the same.

No this method won't work for PDF. You can probably set it up using show/hide buttons and forms, but it won't look as nice.

Hello Angelo from France :) Thank you for your video! My question: all these interactive possibilities in indesign can't live out of adobe servers? So I don't see in what way I could propose/sell these interactive possibilities to my clients because I'm sure they will ask to install this on their own servers. Plus, the accessibility to this document is linked to my account, not to my client. Any idea ? Thx a lot!

Thanks for the question. Couple things, Publish Online is a quick way of getting a project to the web. From there, you can embed the project to other websites. The other option is exporting the document as HTML, which packages the HTML, javascript and images. Just note that this option is more complex and isn't a plug-and-play solution. When you export HTML you'll need help from a developer to properly code it for your site. My hope is that one day Adobe streamlines this for easier access to host on your own site.

Thanks for the tutorial man, should've suscribed to you a long time ago. I followed this tutorial pretty much to the T in my own version of applying this technique. (video lightboxes) and came across a couple of issues. 1. The close button seems to need to have "HIdden Until Triggered" checked or else it will display on the initial screen and will only start working after you use it for the first time. It's actually displaying on your video but because it's also white, you can't really see it. Even though it worked, this particular function gave me issues but right now it's working. 2. When I do use the close button, it seems that the video and the transparent BG are still there because I can't interact with my buttons anymore and my cursor is still trying to interact with the video. I can't figure out why it's not removing itself from the screen but it's infuriating. I'd appreciate any help and if there is a way for me to send you my file to look at and if you're open to that, I would gladly send it to you.

Question/Issue. I've done this exercise with a document containing three videos. Two of the three operate with no issues. The third plays once. If I click the PLAY button a second time, the animation does not execute but the audio from the video will turn on. What am I doing wrong?

Can it be done with a KZbin video?
@AngeloMontillaАй бұрын
Yes, it can. Copy the Emebed code from a YT video and then in InDesign, go to Object > Insert HTML. Paste the code and save. You will treat the embed the same way I treated the uploaded video in this tutorial.

Hi Angelo, Thank you so much for making this video! You are an amazing Teacher & I'm lucky to have found your channel. I was wondering if it's possible to use the same technique for a video with an HTML I-Frame embed code sourced from the video's hosted site? The end goal being a publish online document that contains long videos without a huge file size. If it's possible, what would need to be done differently? I've noticed most of your tutorials detail steps for placing full video files. If you feel I-frame html embedding is an overall bad idea, would you please elaborate? In a perfect world, being able to provide something like you designed in this tutorial of yours - only with videos that are quite lengthy- would solve so many of the problems I'm encountering on the project i'm trying to finish. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fma4hIqaZd96o9Usi=Wz6R9VRlDoD_sxVS Thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience! I really appreciate you & the insights you provide.

Hey there! Yes, you can use the same technique. If you go to Object > Insert HTML, you can insert the embed code of the video.
