Finally! So glad Adobe got around to adding this functionality. As someone who designs for clients that don't want their documents on a non=proprietary site, I'm glad to see Adobe gave us this option without having to use 3rd party solutions.

Hi Angelo thank you for the video! I just seen this on indesign and I was so excited however It seems the video in my document is not working...I can see the video is in my folder...by any chance you know how to fix it?

Thank you, Angelo! Is it possible to use InDesign to export to HTML so that the various design elements including text can be modified individually? I have been told InDesign only allows static export so all components are fixed positionally and I will have to use a plugin like In5 to be able to dynamically export each component. Wondering if InDesign can also do this (or if they are planning to release such a feature), or if there is another tool / script / plug in other than In5 that can do this for me. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hey there! I just recently exported an HTML5 project from InDesign using the new Package HTML feature and added it to a WordPress site without in5. I am not sure I understand your question fully, but this new HTML5 export feature packages the index HTML, the main js and css which you can take over to any site you want. It maintains the entire layout and interactivity. For WordPress, I used a File Manager plug-in to upload all the assets from the InDesign project and then ensured all the paths were set up properly on the site. I was thinking about doing a tutorial on this in the future.

Sure, it would work for email newsletters. I am sure MailChimp or platforms similar have options to add your HTML5 package.

Hey there. It won't work for PDF if that's what you're trying.

A newbie question here, is this means that designers with no coding knowledge can create a whole new website from Adobe InDesign without using Dreamweaver/GoLive/etc? (eventhough of course it'll be much better to use the more appropriate app for creating website)

Thanks for the question! Yes, this packages all the assets needed to already host it to your site. It packages the HTML, javascript, images and stylesheets directly from InDesign. It's just a matter of adding the code to your hosted site, such as WordPress or Squarespace, for example.
